Clean, somewhat healthy (though their salad bowl portions are HUGE), and not terribly expensive (especially given the area). I had the backyard BBQ bowl. The fake chicken was okay. The red onions were really, really oniony. I loves me some quinoa though.
This place would be great if it wasn't so expensive. I'm a big health-nut, so I go crazy over food-to-go places like these. Besides the salads, my favorite thing to grab is their chi seed parfait with granola made with coconut milk. It's really good, but is it reallyyyy worth the $7? Like, really? I understand healthy food is expensive, but for one cup of chi seed yogurt should not be the cost of an inexpensive meal.
Other than that, the food here over all is okay. The soup's okay, the sandwiches are okay, the salads are okay – just not really worth the price.
Why are people hating? This place is meant to be healthy, so yes, it is not going to be as tasty without all the fat.
The paninis are good, but what I really like here are the healthy bowls with the quinoa. I like the southeastern bowl with the curry spiced turkey and bak choi. I think it's a perfectly tasty and healthy option when you just had a run.
The service here is also super friendly.
Look, if you are looking to feel good after you eat and want a healthy option, this is a good choice. Run from here to Central Park then back, damnit.
My wife and I dined here twice and we absolutely love it. There's a plethora of vegan dishes to choose from along with a variety of tasty soups. This spot is becoming one of our Monday night regulars !
I came here twice in one week for the kale Caesar with shrimp. The portion is a great size and the dressing was the perfect amount. I came in during lunch rush one day and the line moved along surprisingly well. There were an assortment of fresh pressed juices and small snacks like rice pudding as a nice addition. I ended up with the vegan rice pudding which was light and just the right amount to soothe my sweet tooth.
During my second visit I sat upstairs to eat. The area is spacious and clean and overlooks the hustle and bustle of the various food stations downstairs. A worker came over to offer to throw my garbage away and wipe down the table. All in all this is a good place to go to have a healthy meal.
The prices are moderate but considering the freshness and quality of the food you are getting (and the location of course) it's worth it.
I've not tried too many different dishes as I typically am craving their bangkok bowl when I'm thinking Fresh & Co, but what I have had, I've enjoyed. Their sandwiches are pretty good as well. It's definitely on the pricier spectrum but for the food you're served, and the portion in which it is served, it's not SO bad really.
If I had a gripe tho, it would be that every person I have come across who works in this location has a shit face on almost as if it's part of uniform. It's not everyday I come here and it doesn't deter me. You don't have to be the friendliest person serving up food, but… I digress… that's neither here nor there. Try it. Not a bad lunch spot to rotate in the area.
The CEO at my new company requested lunch at the last minute, so I was excited to order from Fresh & Co. due to the rave reviews I got from my old colleague up in midtown. I was someone disappointed and embarrassed by my experience. I ordered online which promised a delivery in 40 minutes, it took 65 minutes. I was sweating bullets, but luckily the meeting went long. By the time I got the order, the sandwiches were all smashed and soggy. I ordered some sandwiches from the to-go list because the descriptions sound so good, however, I got a boxed sandwich that you'd find out of a vending machine. My reputation as a hot shot foodie here at my new job lasted less than a week thanks to Fresh & Co.
I think they offer a differentiated salad concept. Incorporating kale and quinoa, I think also in a good way. At least they blanch the kale, and quinoa is served a little warm as well. The dressing can use a little bit more seasoning. But it's a healthy place and it's time to cut down on salt anyway.
Salad prices range from $8-$10. They also offer sandwiches, soup etc.
I think it's a good concept that's executed well.
