  1. This was my first time in Brighton, and I am glad this is where we ended up. AMAZING selection of beers…easily  the best I have seen in Brooklyn. I liked the atmosphere with the subway wall tiles and beer theme. The Russian bartender was super nice, and she had a sweet personality. She let us sample any of the tap beers that we were curious about.

    I am coming back to this bar soon, and I am going to recommend it to everyone I know. It was absolutely wonderful place to grab drinks.

    I did look at the food menu. I didnt order anything because I wasnt hungry. They had a great deal of euro food, which isnt my favorite. The food smelled good though.

  2. Tis place is located in the center of the russian area of Conney island. It ois closed to the beach and from the metro station. Nevertheless it is very expensive and the service is not very sympathetic ….
    It has a very wide range of beer from all over … if you like that you won't be desapointed.

    Il est au cœur du quartier russe de Conney Island mais offre plusieurs inconvénients : l'endroit est sombre (c'est un pub) et le service est peu accueillant. C'est bien dommage en y rentrant je sentais un fort potentiel et j'ai été déçue!

  3. Food is ok. Beer selection is great. Service isn't good. I recommend the fried pelmeni and the burger with garlic fries.

  4. My Dad brought me here to share one of his hidden favorites in Brighton. We dined in his nostalgia as he described how the venue used to be only a fraction of the size, how the prices were half the current listings, and how the owner used to prepare all of the kebab.

    Nowadays, Kebeer boasts a fair selection of central and eastern European beers (including at least one from Pilsen) as well as many of the other standards one would expect. Based on the seating style, the restaurant layout, and the beer selection, I would deem Kebeer as a pub not a bar; however, I visited at about 2:30, so I did not see how the venue looks at night.

    My Dad ordered a beef soup with carrots, potatoes, scallions, and green beans to start. It was served hot and had a potent spice.

    Next we shared beef and liver kebab which were served with raw white onions, rice, and what I believe was a house sauce. The kebab was cooked perfectly. I've never had cooked liver before, but this dish has set a high standard. Both the beef and liver kebab were very flavorful leaving the timid sauce unutilized.

    Overall, I enjoyed the food and the experience but was surprised that Kebeer did not serve doner.

  5. If you told me two days prior that some of the best falafel and hummus in any of the five boroughs would be at an unassuming bar off of the B/Q subway station at Brighton Beach, I'd roll my eyes at you and carry on.

    Well…I have some news for YOU.

    A chilly beach day required some food and drink breaks, so into Kebeer me, Adam, and our friend Tessa tucked. We were literally just looking for a place to get some tea or little drink whike we warmed up, but…damn! This bar is gorgeous, decorated with gorgeous bottles of beer along the walls, dark gorgeous tables, and dark metal candelabras. The beer menu was photos; I gladly pointed at the Koppsrberg Pear. Tessa wanted a Hot Toddy to clear the illness cropping up on her throat and lungs. They had no such thing, but provided her with a kettle of hot black tea, lemons, honey, and two shots of Jameson. (WIN.)

    We split falafel, a Greek salad, and French fries. The falafel was fresh, crunchy and hot on the outside, and creamy on the insid. The hummus was obviously homemade, and the Israeli salad on the side was refreshing. The Greek salad was great, if not a bit too salty. Finally, the fries were crunchy, sprinkled generously with fresh garlic and dill.

    Those little Russian institutions along the boardwalk, such as Volna and Tatiana, are great, but I think Kebeer is my new true love in Brighton Beach.

  6. beyond the service which was super slow and difficult to get the attention of the waitress, despite it being pretty empty, there were a couple redeeming features–

    The food was ok. Typical bar food in a lot of ways, but one person did get a set of dips that came with warm, fresh bread. The hummus was super good.. the eggplant dip was really good.. Tasty choice. Another person got what we thought was going to be cheese bread, but came out like more of a cheese pizza without sauce. SUPER cheesey and would be good if you had had a few too many beers, but since it was so difficult to get her attention, we only had a couple. They have a pretty big selection, but don't ask for suggestions– we just did a lot of pointing at the menu and hoped what came out was what we had asked for.

  7. Quite empty for a late July afternoon, with the dinner hour fast approaching. A few patrons at the bar sat, drank and cheered for their respective soccer team. With the World Cup '14 now two weeks in the books, in enthic communities, the soccer ball rolls on.

    We ordered five Kebob plates including chicken liver, lamb, lulya, steak and veal. Add to the order some pickled vegetables including green tomatoes, red cabbage and pickles with a half order of bread. A meal that probably is deep rooted in history, possibly hundreds of years old is still satisfyingly customers today in the heart of Brighton Beach. To wash down this Western European classic combo of meat and pickled vegetables, I had two Carlsberg's on tap and a wonderfully refreshing Pear Cider, perfect for a hot summer afternoon.

  8. Before they "renovated" the place, it was my favorite bar in the area. Why why why. This place really had a cool atmosphere of a European soccer pub and they torn everything down and made it into a cafeteria. Huge disappointment. It was a great place to have a few beers. Now it's just another ugly looking Brighton beach dining room with food and service below average.
