  1. A tiny space, easy to miss, blasting rap music. Don't bring your strollers, don't bring a big group. While there are a few small tables and some seats along the counter, this is really a good takeout option.

    I ordered a half oyster and half shrimp po'boy dressed and wasn't too into it. I've been to New Orleans but only had Killer Po'boys at Erin Rose, a place that serves non-traditional po'boys, so I can't judge how authentic this is. The fried seafood was delicious, if not a little meager in quantity.

    But their scrambled eggs with Muenster cheese and smoked salmon on a biscuit is perfection. I have so many feelings about it I don't even know where to start. It seamlessly breaks the no cheese and fish rule, the cheese blending completely into the egg. The smoked salmon is good quality, and the biscuit is soft on the inside with just the right amount of resistance on the outside. It's easy to eat, perfect for any meal but especially for a luxurious breakfast or hangover cure.

    I did order pickup through Yelp and they never got the order, so a phone call may be a better bet.

In my first visit to Cheeky's, I learned that I hate oysters, no matter how perfectly they're fried.  I also learned that Cheeky makes a damn good po' boy, which I will totally get with just shrimp next time instead of going for the half and half.  The woman who served me–I'm assuming she's the owner–was friendly, pleasant and accommodating, and their prices are more than reasonable.  Looking forward to trying the grass sandwich!

  3. wow the sandwiches are the bomb! i don't even know where to start! we had the chicken sandwich and the shortrib one.  both were freaking amazing and cheeky really nailed it with the flavors!  cannot wait to go back for round 2! the biscuit was prob the best i've had haha (not that i had many biscuit experiences in my life :P)

    with that said, would i travel many miles just to check out this place? prob not.. but it's a great bonus for the locals to have!

  4. I've bookmarked this place for quite some time. Am glad the wait was well worth it! I should've taken a picture of the front entrance and window. It's all white with some limited writing of their offerings randomly placed. But it's bare front almost made me miss the door! I even thought it was closed until I walked up to it and saw a light on. (And the posted hours).

    Hands down of all the sandwiches in this place (ordered four), I am digging the fried chicken one. The chicken was crispy,  moist,  and well flavored. Served in their classic buttermilk biscuit. Comes with a white gravy, (same like a restaurant when you order a chicken fried steak). And it comes with a purple cabbage. This awesomeness is a must eat right away sammy. I took it to go and it traveled fine but the experience would have been more awesome if I ate it there. There's one table for four otherwise you're sitting at the counter on a wooden stool. The space is long and narrow not wide.

    By the register there's a paper menu or walk further in and read the wooden menu board. Lots more offerings noted.

    Side note,  other sandwiches I ordered were:
    Pork: served with grilled challah bread and a vinegar like marinade and saucy onions,  reminds me of the kind you order with hot dogs).
    Sea: this was cool, it's a choice of shrimp po' boy or oyster. But there's also a half half!  You get to have both! I can't attest to the full sandwich because of my shrimp allergy but I loved the fried oysters in the sandwich. Big plump oysters fried to perfection.
    Egg: okay,  this was for my kid. Don't question. Just read. The sammy was egg and munster cheese served in their signature biscuit. Can order it with bacon but we opted no. I'm sure it would've been just as awesome. My kid likes it plain.

    I also ordered the Ben-yays. Just like ball shaped zeppoles, dough-y and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Nice and hot … liked this a lot. Ate as dessert.

    While I didn't have drinks, there were plenty of choices. Bruce Cost ginger ale's – Original,  Jasmine, Pomergranite, and Passion Fruit. There were also different kinds of beers and an afterthought,  all of the sandwiches would've paired well with any!

  5. I ordered the chicken cheeky sandwich and can we say there was heavy breathing involved as I unwrapped this glorious sandwich?

    This place is a hole in the wall and is missable (almost missed this place). Although the exterior of this place can be unsettling and seem shady, I promise you the interior is great and the sandwiches are well worth it.

    Their menu is simple and they have chicken, beef, pork, grass, veggie or sea sandwiches. The prices are also decent, as a sandwich will leave you full.

  6. No ambiance but the bomb sandwiches. I ordered the beef on challah with horseradish. It was dynamite. Wife and SIL ordered chicken with gravy on a biscuit. Out of sight. You know this is a good place when they have a small menu. They only do a few things, but it is all done in house and they do everything well.

  7. Bumpin' up to 5 stars since I keep telling everyone about this place, and have gone back a couple times now. Just keeps getting better!

  8. I went on a Sunday afternoon between meals and there was no line, that was a plus. I got the recommended Chicken Biscuit sandwich and the Po' Boy but was not impressed with either sandwich. The biscuit sandwich was much smaller than I thought it would be and it wasn't crunchy nor had any flavor. I thought it was supposed to be slathered in gravy, but didn't see any at all. The Po Boy was only slightly better as it was crunchy from the fry, but despite that, it didn't have any flavor either. I'm glad I got to try it out once, but I don't think I'd come back. The place is also super tiny and it's hard to find the restaurant since the sign is on the floor and it's super dark inside, behind white doors, can't even to see that it's a restaurant.
