  1. Diners are becoming scarce in the city – especially good ones. I've been coming to The Dish for breakfast since I worked in Chelsea (almost 10 years ago). It is a neighborhood staple that serves up a good, not too pricey meal, in a very friendly and relaxed environment. Honestly, in almost ten years, I've only had brunch and breakfast at (or from) here even though I knew other items existed on the menu.

The last time I visited was after a hiatus of a almost a year. Made it just in time for the breakfast specials (which ends at 11 am). The Dish still had it. It wasn't as spectacular as I remembered it to be (eggs a little overcooked, "well-done" hash browns on the colder end) but the rest of the meal (french toast, sausages, eggs) were just fine.

    Until the next.

  2. The 4 of us went here for some late night grub. Decent service. Bad food. Like really tasteless, bland food. And the waiter totally messed up the check and overcharged my sister's credit card. Then explaining to him what he did wrong and how to fix it was impossible. It was a mess. I won't be going back!

  3. This place is pretty decent, reminds me of a diner. I like the decor too, kind of funky and vintage-y.
The menu is huge! They have all sorts of things from breakfast omelets to quesadillas and sandwiches. The food was simple but prepared well. I ordered a tuna salad wrap and it was very large, took half of it home. Also came wth French fries which were very good.
I tried some of the chicken quesadilla and it wasn't bad, also a large amount.

The prices here are reasonable so if you want something basic for not too much money this is a good place. Unfortunately the service wasn't great as it took a while for us to get anything when we asked for it. This may have also been because there was a language barrier with our waiter.

They have some desserts but no cookies as I tried to get one but to no avail. I saw some muffins and other pastries though.

  4. Better than your typical diner, with good healthy options – salads, protein & vegetable dishes, etc.  Ordered many things here, but really enjoy the Greek Salad with Romanian Steak.  Reasonable prices as well.

  5. I stopped by for a late breakfast and as all of you know or maybe you don't know, but 9 times out of 10, whenever I eat at a diner, I order the French Toast. The menu had at least 10 pages of entrees to order from but it was still early in the day. The food wasn't over the top amazing but it wasn't half bad either. I have had way better French Toast, but maybe it is because I didn't have crazy high expectations that it sufficed in the moment. My two friends ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad which looked amazing for one. For two, my friends raved about it for the next two days lol. I'll be sure to get that the next time I visit.

The service here was top tier I would say. I joined my party after they had already been served and it took the server a little while to come and get my order, but after that he and all the servers were very, very, very attentive to my needs. They filled my water every time it reached 3/4 full, they wiped the table around my plate, they were just all over it! Something like that would usually get overwhelming, but this time it didn't.

    I approve this message.

  6. To be fair, I've never ordered anything other than the burger with egg whites.  However, even with a somewhat steep $11 price tag, I can't count the number of times I've ordered it.  Great service with a fairly extensive menu.  It's a great addition to the neighborhood.

  7. My colleague and I were on a hunt for some breakfast, and came across this spot. We had eggs, bacon, sausage, the works of all of a hearty breakfast. It's a small spot, with decent food. The service was ok, and the food was mediocre. I'm not too sure if I'd come back again. Nothing about it was memorable. ENJOY!

  8. Attentive service with a great waitstaff. The big lowdown was the food. Bland and cooked improperly. I had the cajun burger and told them to cook it medium. It came out as a burnt charcoal dried out hockey puck. To me cajun does not mean burnt. Even the fries and onion rings were overly fried and was dried out and so crispy i thought i'd chip a tooth. Sad to see as it's a wonderful restaurant space. Open and clean but the food is sub par. Won't be back.
