This place is awesome. Really delicious Italian sandwiches and great pastas. The only gripe I have about this place is that it's a bit expensive for lunch so it's definitely a splurge when I do order from here. It's definitely a gem for this area.
Loved these sandwiches! For some reason when I want Italian sandwiches I definitely prefer the crusty, hard loaves of bread that'll make your mouth hurt but it's so worth it. Great quality for decent value in a row of restaurants. Forgot the name of the sandwich I had but it had chicken, mozzarella, proscuitto, and balsamic and it was delicious! They have a huge list of sandwiches with a variety of classic Italian toppings and some salads. The place gets pretty busy and there isn't much seating but they're very efficient and move the line fast.
Finally a legit place to get lunch a stones throw away from my apt. This place is a real gem in a neighborhood full of low quality thai food, rip off bodegas and random coffee shops.
Fresh meats and cheeses, really great bread and all around a very rustic and classic italian vibe to enjoy a lunch. The smoked mozz was memorable and the gabagool (sorry i dont know the non-sopranos word for it #ignorantyelper) was piled high.
A very healthy portion and worth a repeat visit.
I'm from Italy, and this place brings me back home 🙂 the menu and real Italian radio playing, good authentic food, I live down the street and come here very often to feel a little closer to my origin, this place is simply wonderful.
The VIP with the fig spread is delicious!
Tip: it gets very busy around lunch time but dinner time is perfect to stop by!
The chicken pesto panini + balsamic vinegar was amazing here. It was definitely filling enough and the mozz was so so so fresh and delicious. What a refreshing lunch that didn't boggle down me too much into a slump. If I worked near here, I totally would get this for lunch almost everyday, there's so much to choose from – next time I should try their pastas. It was a bit confusing when coming in for a lunch rush – you're supposed to line up at the place opposite the fridges and then pay at the register on the right upon the entrance. They should probably invest in some signs so that I'm not like a crazy person in a crowd..They call your name when they get to your receipt and you pay at the register. They also have a discount if you use cash!
Meh I was not very impressed with this place. I came here for dinner tonight looking forward to some authentic Italian paninis but left disappointed. I ordered the #1 Il VIP sandwich which comes with prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, fig spread, and extra virgin olive oil. My main gripe with the sandwich is the stale, hard ciabatta bread that it's served with. I don't know how anyone can possibly even chew through it. It was basically impossible to eat with the rest of the fillings. I'm giving this review two stars because the contents of the sandwich actually was decent. The prosciutto was nicely balanced out by the flavors of the fresh mozzarella and fig spread. I loved the fig spread but unfortunately didn't get to eat much of it since it was slathered on the bread that I threw out. My friend got the penne a la vodka which I tried as well. This dish was a nice creamy flavorful dish. If I ever go back, I guess I'll be sticking with the pastas next time.
This place is more of a grab and go vibe to me! It didn't seem too vegetarian friendly in terms of what would be worth spending money for! The woman that helped was nice but the experience was quiet!!! I sat down and asked for water which I normally would get at any other place when staying. You order food at the counter and then sit if you want
Overall was really hungry so the penne Ala vodka was okay on the sweet side
I ordered the #5 Trentino for lunch Friday 12p & oh my goodness, it was magic. The freshness is the outstanding factor. The awesome interior design, ambiance & careful attention to process was evident in the restaurant itself. Every ingredient stands out & is well selected: the Mortadella (Italian bologna) was spiced & salted just right; the provolone was just thick enough but not to overwhelm any other as its sharpness could easily do so; the marinated eggplant was just a hint to add accent; the Arcadian mix was quite light; and the balsamic vinaigrette is just thick enough & a great accent to all other ingredients; the This review really is all about the food in the sense of this stunning freshness. I did an order & pickup, in & out within 10 minutes. There was not much of a line & even a group of 9 was out quickly since the efficiency seems very high with checkout taking just 40 seconds. The high walls have the menu written on the chalkboard paint in artistic & colorful lettering. Checkout machine is labelled with Apple Pay though I didn't try it. I'd love to spend some time here drinking wine sometime as it's so nice, decorated nicely, good design, and physically comfortable with cushions and pleasing tones/colors. I wondered before going in why it was so highly rated & now I know why.
