This location is OKAY but the one in Midtown East, near Grand Central, is way better. The employees at this location aren't near as friendly or attentive as the other. Even the sandwiches at the other location taste better….not sure why?
Also- you're better off going in and ordering. Every time I order from Seamless they forget something. Last time they forgot the tomatoes, this time they forgot the pickles. I double-checked and its written there. Employees are too rushed and don't read the order thoroughly. Is a missing pickle or tomato enough reason to call and complain? No…but it's still annoying!
Potbelly sandwiches are good, and I'm sure I'll be back. Maybe next time I'll be lucky and they'll actually get it right!
Ehh for a sandwich shop. This wasn't that great.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken and Cheese with Mushrooms on Whole Wheat Bread.
It tasted like Subway's and to be frank it just tasted mehh. I'll pass on this. Basically this is an overpriced Subway's sandwich that's much smaller.
Came here to grab lunch to bring back to the office.
It was 1pm and the line was still wrapped around, but they are efficient! They take your order while you're still in line, so by the time you get to the front, your sandwich is ready and you just tell them what toppings you want.
I got the regular size "A Wreck" and added lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, and seasoning. It tastes like your your typical sandwich – nothing super special.
I don't get why cucumbers are premium toppings (+$0.60).

Yummy toasted sandwiches. Their bread is the right amount of crisp and chew, and soft and warm on the inside. I admit, I pretty much always get the same thing, so I can't really recommend any sandwich other than the roast beef and provolone. Also, even though I enjoy the bread, I generally don't like really thick bread for my sandwich, so I always ask for thin cut. Macaroni salad is pretty decent, as is their tomato soup. The line can get pretty crowded, but it moves pretty fast.
For some reason, it's always freezing in the place all year round. In the summer, the AC is cranked up so high you can actually see the air coming out of the vents. Which is why I've never eaten in the restaurant.
For a dinner around 6pm, the service is a little slow, but I can't complain about the sandwich!
I got the Italian on wheat bread with pretty much every veggie in it, spicy mayo and light mayo. I absolutely loved it! I guess you can say that they are similar to subway, but I feel like the quality is way better. The portion size is smaller and little more pricy for what you get, but like I said, you can't beat the quality of the taste. Plus side, is that as much as I like having a full sandwich, I hate when it falls apart. Here they make it perfectly where you can have everything in it but it fits nicely without falling apart. Very critical when your on the go eating while walking.
Definitely a place that I would come back to.
I have to admit I'm feeling a bit nervous as a I write a 5-star review for a huge sandwich chain. I could never, ever imagine giving 5 stars to a Subway or Jersey Mike's or something similar. But I cannot tell a lie – I think I'm addicted to Potbelly! I crave it at least once a week and lucky for me there are tons of locations in the city, it's cheap, and though it's not the healthiest option out there, it's definitely not the worst either!
This location is my go-to and the line is always quick – they often have someone standing in the line to take your order right away to alleviate backup who is always friendly and smiling. The guys actually making the sandwich (whatever their version of 'sandwich artist' is) aren't as chipper but I guess I wouldn't be either during a lunch rush! I get the works on my turkey sandwich but if you're not a mayo fan you may want to ask them to go light… they seem to have a bit of a heavy hand with the condiments.
What really seals the deal for me though is their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. OMG. It's less than $2, and though it's almost the same amount of calories as my regular turkey sandwich, it's sooo delicious and worth it.

I went to college in Naperville, Illinois, and we had a Potbelly right next to campus, so this chain is such a nostalgia hub for me. Last week I was feeling particularly hungry for Potbelly in general, but then I got a specific urge: THE POTBELLY WARM PB&J.
I kept telling my co-workers that we had to go so that I could get my peanut butter and jelly fix, but they looked at me funny and said they have never heard of it, and that they think I might be mistaken.
I realized I hadn't had one in a very long time, though I visit Potbelly frequently. When my friend and I arrived, we got in line and I could nOT FIND MY PARTICULAR SANDWICH ON THE MENU. I was so sad. But when I asked the super nice lady who was punching orders into an iPad, she said that Potbelly does indeed still have the pb&j sandwich: You just have to order it yourself. It's on their ~underground menu~.
FYI: This warm pb & j is the best damn part about Potbelly, hands down. TRY ONE.
Also the people at this location are super freaking nice and I would highly recommend going here. 🙂
This is the quintessential sandwich spot that I frequent in Flatiron during lunch break. The food is here is pretty solid (my favorite is the Mediterranean sandwich), except for the milkshakes which do not compete with the nearby Shake Shack. Aside from the upsides (the sandwiches) which makes this a solid three star place, here are a few of the downsides:
– closes at 6PM, no time for evening sandwich cravings
– always long lines, and when there aren't, staff can be slow to make the order
– lack of seating and small space
– no more Seamless delivery or delivery for small orders
On the upside, this makes me go outside when the sun is actually up and eat a sandwich in the beautiful Madison Square Park. I also get to watch those fierce NYC park squirrels burying nuts and trying to steal my sandwich. Silver lining, people.
