  1. Not impressed. Came here sort of in a rush but it was empty so I proceeded to order my wrap. Three people came in, ordered, and got their food before me. Finally after 15 minutes I asked if it would be much longer. The cashier went towards the back and asked where my wrap was. No one knew what she was talking about and then found my order on a post it on the floor. She came up to me and said they're making it now just a couple more minutes. Ok thanks for the lies. The wrap was ok, not great. The food gets a 3, the service a 1 and the lies don't help either!

  2. Standard good ol' bagels. Can't ask for much else. Great spot for Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast. Staff is fast and efficient. Also pro tip – best iced coffee in Billy Burg. Can't wait for warmer weather to have one!

  3. Decent bagels. Got a pumpernickel everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese for $3.80, so a bit on the pricier side. It was big and satisfied my starving stomach, so no real complaints.

  4. Noticed this place while en route to an Elite event in the area and was attracted by its neon sign and its cute name.  Decided to drop in on my way to the subway.

I always have more inherent affection for 24-hour spots because they soothe my night owl soul.  And I'm sure I would appreciate this place after late nights I lived in the area.  But for a visit at a sane hour it wasn't anything super noteworthy.

Prices were impressively decent though.  A toasted bagel with spread, a large bottle of flavored seltzer and a chocolate croissant only set me back about 4 bucks.

Bagel wasn't as soft and chewy as I'd have liked, but maybe that was just a 9pm thing.

Also, if the huge stack of magazines by the door was any indication, this spot is a Time Out NY pickup location which is handy.  And they magically had them a day earlier than the normal Wednesday distribution date.

  5. Mediocre bagels coupled with rude, lazy service.

I really wanted to like this place but man-alive they mess up orders like it is their job. I stopped going in person after I placed my order – waiting 15m for it, asked about it and they FORGOT TO MAKE IT. They then said it would be another 15m AND FORGOT AGAIN. Are you kidding me?

Now, that was close to a year ago and I still haven't been back. I ordered off them via seamless a few times and it looked like they were at least OK at that. Nope – after two good deliveries of mediocre food, they take double the stated time to deliver a cold, crappy bagel sandwich. I kept calling and they kept saying 15 minutes.

I am done with this place. Their bagels aren't even special.

  6. Being a bagel-obsessed person, I've always struggled with the fact that most bagel places close early. I present to you a bagel shop that's open 24 hours (!!!)

This place is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even late night. They're very friendly, quick service, and have solid food. The bagels aren't the best I've ever had (the reasoning for the 4 vs. 5 stars…they could use more seasoning on them), but they're pretty delicious still. They also have very good bagel sandwiches, especially the chicken cutlet one.

So, whether you're considering a bagel for breakfast or thinking "bagel or pizza" at 4am after the bars, I highly recommend Bagelsmith.

  7. I have yet to understand the 3 star rating, since I'm new to the neighborhood.  But so far, I've enjoyed their bagels.  Service is fast enough during the morning rush.

And a nice surprise is they have delicious fries.

  8. I mean, I like this place just fine. I come here all the time.

They're open 24 hours. They accept card with no minimum. And they have bagels! What more could you ask for?
