Crave Fishbar
“Most places only give you one type of east coast oysters for $1 and one type of west coast for about $1.50 for happy hour usually.”
“I also had the pleasure of eating a full meal here – lobster curry was amazing as was the tuna.”
“If happy hour didn't end so early I would've ordered another dozen of oysters for round three.”

This may be one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants in midtown east. The seafood is so fresh here, and everyone from our group loved the dinner experience. The interior is cute – the walls are decorated with portraits of seamen/fishermen.
I would recommend everything I tried:
* Salmon Sashimi Salad – mustard greens, sesame ginger vinaigrette
* Roasted local hake – with squash, tomato confit
* Snapper Sashmi – with jalapeno puree
* Seared rare yellowfin tuna
The seafood is so fresh, and furthermore, admire the fact that they are a sustainable, eco-conscious restaurant that uses organic produce. There are gluten free options noted on the menu.
Would definitely come back here (especially since it's in the neighboorhood). There is an additional location in the Upper West Side.
Came here with my team for a farewell dinner on a not-supposed-to-be-crazy Wednesday night, and believe or not, we were still kept waiting for half an hour before getting seated, even though we nailed the reservation many days ahead. However given the high quality of food, I still could not help but to leave a five star.
As we got here way passed 7pm, we had to skip the happy hour part. Yet we still opted for oysters, the must-try. Delicious! We also shared the octopus calamari (tender and chewy), beef carpaccio, and for main, I got the signature lobster curry. Strongly suggest the curry, as well as the homemade squid ink pasta (based on my coworker). Unfortunately, by the time we reached dessert, there was only one order of banana ice cream sandwich left…sadly turned to affogato. Stole a bite from my coworker – oh my, amazingly tasty! Next time I would have to make sure coming in at an earlier time and getting the whole thing!
A bit noisy so tough to make conversations.
We checked this place out on Memorial Day, it was perfect for the summer season! The seafood was very fresh and I love how they brag that all of their seafood comes from sustainable sources. We sat at one of their high top tables and started off with some fish tacos, which were delicious. You could tell the seafood was very fresh. On Mondays they have $1 oysters, so we ordered a dozen to start out with (you can only order 12 at a time). The oysters were fabulous, they came with pieces of grapefruit, oranges, and limes on the side and had a beautiful citrus taste. After the oysters, I had a lobster salad and my date had the gooseberry and avocado salad with prawns on the side. We also split a bottle of Chablis. My lobster salad was good overall, but only had about 3 small pieces of lobster in it.
Overall, I'm giving it three stars as the ambiance was awesome, it was the perfect summer location, easily a 9.5/10. Food was good: 8/8.5, but the service was terrible. I'm lead to believe it's because we went on a holiday, who knows. In any case, we had a reservation, and still waited a few minutes, even though there were a ton of empty tables (ok, no biggie). We sat down and waited for awhile before anyone came over. They brought our fish tacos right away, but not our wine for quite some time, which is a bit of a pet peeve for me. We waited a fair amount of time for our oysters, then when our salads came, we had no silverware and my date didn't have the prawns he requested, which all took some time to come out. I would have let that all slide, but then I tried joking with the waitress before we left and she must have been having a bad day, as I was stating something about my job and she said (joking), seriously, I hate you guys. I would never so much as to bring it up, but she said it three more times before we left. Once is joking, 3-4 times, not so much. It got awkward by the third time.
It was super nice they let us try one of the French wines they had before we purchased it, (we decided against it). It did take a bit of coercing on our end though!
I think the place has a ton of potential and I'm not saying I wouldn't go back, I was just taken aback by the service and the one server and her comments.
LOVE it here!
Last week, I dined at Crave with 2 of my girlfriends. We were promptly seated outside, and then asked the waitress for some recommendations. We took her advice, and ordered a few cocktails, oyster shooters, ceviche, the black squid ink pasta, lobster curry, and another fish. The Lobster curry was my favorite!
They also have $1 oysters for happy hour.
Overall, I loved Crave, and look forward to visiting again!!
My family felt very comfortable with this restaurant and foods. Especially plate size was not big so easy for us to have dishes comfortably. But my son said the curry included many Thai basil so he tried to remove them from the curry!
Really lovely place. Nice dark ambiance, delicious cookie sundae, and best brandied cherry in the Manhattan in Manhattan. They also gave us a free spicy shot to celebrate a few newlyweds in our party.
One of my new favorite places for seafood now! I had such a hankering for oysters and happy hour and found Crave. To say I was satiated doesn't even cut it. The entire experience was wonderful. First, $1 oysters during happy hour came with such a nice selection of East and West Coast oysters. We sampled all of them then went back for our favorites. Also, instead of just lemon, there's grapefruit and other citrus on the plate to choose from. We loved the grapefruit vinaigrette for the oysters and clams. The server was phenomenal and so were the drinks!! We had the aperol sangria with blueberries. Yummy. Also, please try one of the oyster shooters. It was truly delicious. We did the tequila based one. Now for the cooked food, the pork belly, octopus and curried lobster were really great. I don't think you can go wrong here. I can't wait to come back again.
This review is only for the happy hour. I am a fan of oyster happy hours and this place has fresh oysters. What's even better is that they actually give you a sample of 3-4 types of oysters in your dozen, unlike other places that just give you the same dozen. It was a dollar oysters and their drinks are slightly quirky as well, but quite tasty. They also had oyster shooters, which I never had before, but not part of the happy hour, but it was pretty good and it works. Definitely will come back for happy hour!
