  1. Since opening up 1-2 months ago, Café Arte has been displaying banners to celebrate their grand opening with a $7.99 lunch special to entice the general public to come in. Like many people who were looking for a deal I got suckered right into it. The café is pretty small and only offers take out. For lunch, the selection seemed decent: ramen bowls, burrito bowls, tacos, bibimbaps. Everything was pre-made. If you're ordering something cold then they hand it to you immediately. If you're ordering something hot, then it's usually ready pretty quick as well.

More important than the food selection was the quality …. and it was terrible! I'm one to rarely complain about food or not want to eat something I bought, but the bibimbap that I ordered from here was so bland. The rice was not cooked very well and the additional ingredients (beef, cucumbers, carrots, etc) were blah. It was one of the worst café lunches I had ever had. I was so thankful that I got a discount at $7.99, but even then I felt ripped off.

I don't like writing negative reviews, especially ones as bad as this one, but Café Arte needs to shut down, re-group and come back serving 'real' food. Not until they sort out their food quality issues would I give Café Arte a try again.

  2. I had such high hopes for the new cafe opening right next to my work but it sucks.

First off – it's over priced.  They're charging a high premium for mediocre food. For the price, I'll head to Open Kitchen down the street as it is MUCH better.

The coffee is basic AF.  They gave me a post card explaining how their coffee is superior due to it's high ph – making it literally basic (ha! but it's figuratively basic too).  It tastes watered down.  Go to the Love Truck on Wall st & Williams instead.

The staff is inattentive and rude.  Once, I stood at the checkout counter for almost a minute, being the ONLY one in the store, while cashiers sat at tables relaxing and chatting, before anyone noticed they should get up and do their job.  The sandwich guy's a douche.

Long story short, i won't even go here for a cup of coffee if it's pouring rain.  Too bad.

  3. i got an average vanilla latte from here.  It was small and expensive.  It didn't taste so great but it wasn't horrible.  Just average.  nothing more to say…
