  1. I have a love/hate relationship with Panera.  I love that they serve fresh coffee though!

It's a great place to meet up with friends for lunch and coffee (unlimited coffee as long as you pay for the cup!).  For breakfast, grab a coffee and any bagel with cream cheese.  They serve sandwiches, soups, salads for all courses which is a plus.

They're restroom is usually clean and they do have wifi.  Their dining area is decent and can be crowded (meaning can be very loud).  In my opinion, I really don't think that it's a great place to study unless you have earplugs.

The location is in Bay Terrace and parking can be tough to find if you're going during their peak hours.

  2. I popped my Panera cherry today. Woahhh — PB is much more expensive than McDonald's. The day I decided to be health conscious I'm hit with a $16 price tag. Well damn did I order for one person or two?

I was under the assumption that there would be more variety and exotic flavors — not at all. I was disappointed because everyone raves about this place, but its nothing out of the ordinary that I haven't tasted before.

Lines are concert long. Once you place your order at the register you are handed a ticket. Then you wait to be called either in the front for bakery items or in the back for salads, soup, and sandwiches. Aye caramba — I hate assembly lines.

I ordered the BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad with extra chicken, a Chocolate Chipper and an Açai Berry Green Iced Tea. The salad was good but lacked the pizazz I was looking for. Since the tea brews hot, it requires some cool down and lots of Ice. Also it's brewed unsweetened.

There wasn't much of a flavor with the tea. It tasted like a light herbal green tea with color. I added some sugar to give it somewhat of a taste. With that being said I throughly enjoyed the light and refreshing flavor afterwards.

Cold refreshments are located in the back next to the second pickup area. Hot refreshments are located in the front across from the cash register. This a great place to study being that no one bothers you to get up and move after fifteen minutes.

  3. Pretty good Panera bread location. It can get pretty packed here but they have plenty of room and great staff. The food is delicious and everything is made to perfection just how it should be. The only down side to my experience was that they were out of a lot of stuff. There was no lemonade or green tea. They basically just had soda and coffee. The food came out in great time–just 4 minutes. Also, nobody was wiping down the tables as people left, and that had me a little upset, so they lose a star for that. Otherwise, it's overall a great Panera location.

  4. I can't believe that I've had yet another terrible experience because of the worker (white male with a beard and a big build) I wrote about in my previous review. I have no idea how he's still an employee at Panera- He needs to be fired ASAP! I think his name tag said Andrew on it. Today I was waiting for my food and about 6 people who had ordered after me had all gotten their food and left. A female employee called my name, handed me my food, and apologized for the wait. Without missing a beat, the male worker turned to her and asked "Why are you sorry? Why should you be sorry?" WHAT? I couldn't believe what I heard, so I stopped and looked at him. He saw me looking and again said to his female coworker "Why should you be sorry?" I really wanted to say something back to him but I was with my nephew and didn't want to make a scene. I really should have gone to his supervisor. FIRE THIS GUY!

  5. I used to love this Panera but I feel like their quality has gone done quite a bit ever since they first opened. The place itself has held up very well but I can't say the same about the food.

I used to order from their panini section every time I came here or if I wanted to order out but the past few times I've ordered, the sandwiches were not made neatly. It literally looks like someone slapped two pieces of bread together and stuck a piece of chicken inside. The tomatoes in my panini slid off to the side. I was pretty disappointed.

I find myself ordering salads and soups now. I really love their strawberry poppyseed salad but they only have that in the summer. Their bread bowls aren't all bad either.

Overall, I would still come here only because it's the closest location to where I live and it's quick and convenient. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it anymore.

  6. Bless these workers at panera! The line was pretty long when I first walked in (around 6 customers) and it took them less than 10 minutes to get to me! The workers here work fast! Even while working at such a fast pace they were so sweet and kind. The cashier that was taking care of me cracked my cookie in half and apologized! I have been so bakeries and some fast chain stores that don't apologize for anything with a resting bitch face. I made the mistake of trying to use an online mobile app coupon at the cash register; the cashier kindly told me that I had to order it and apply the coupon on the mobile app. Took them less than 10 minutes to make my sandwich! Thank you for your fast and hard work!

  7. Typical Panera Bread..

Only thing that sucked was the speed of service. Deifnitely took me waaaay too long to get a bowl of soup… literally just a bowl of soup took 10 minutes.

  8. I just moved to Bayside and can't stop coming here for breakfast on the weekends.  The coffee taste great, service is attentive, facilities are clean, and sitting is plenty.  What more can a customer ask for.  The food is affordable and the patrons and staff are cordial.  I only wish the parking lot wasn't so congested on the weekends.  Don't get me wrong, parking is ample but you will have to park in the center of the shopping center and walk like 300 meters but I don't mind cause walking is good exercise for the body but I just wanted to let all the people in the world that do not believe in walking and love the convenience of parking 20 feet from the door just because.

Oh yeah, the bagels are exceptional!!!
