  1. I really like the bread bowl tomato soup here, but the lines, then the wait and then finally, I get home to find no bread bowl! Argh! Happened to me twice!

  2. Love the food, hate the looks of misery coming from the employees. The girl taking our order (says Victoria on my receipt) looked like she would rather be just about ANYPLACE else but at work. Attitude in her voice, just not pleasant or friendly at all. Sorry to bother you at work Miss.
The usual employee banter, yelling from across the room about who knows what, dirty tables everywhere.. Ugh.. Before we left we did see someone cleaning up but I think Victoria's negative attitude set the tone. I'm torn, I love the place but hate the unwelcome atmosphere. Boo. Hoo…

  3. Came here a week ago for the first time on a Saturday around 3. There is always a line at any Panera and this was about the same & moved quickly. There was a lot of ppl there w/computers (like every Panera and Starbucks cause of that good ole' free wifi) but we still got a seats.
I always get the pick 2 deal. I switch it up between pannini & salad & soup. Mmm that broccoli cheddar in that bread bowl is bangin' btw (don't be decieved cause it's soup..those are a lot calories honey). Anyway this visit, I had the turkey avocodo club which is normally cold but she let me make it hot and choose the bread (thanks boo) w/the bbq chicken salad. Both were good. So nice to have this in that location along w/some other places that opened up in Bay Plaza. I've dined at the Panera in Queens(Woodhaven blvd) for the most part and I thought it was awesome they give you a # here to place on your table and bring your food (Queens you are slackin' there)! Overall, we had a pleasant experience here and will definitly come back. In reference to the review about not wanting to throw out their dishes to get near other ppl's..This is a Panera standard they do everywhere, not just here. Also, in my humble opinion I rather eat on a real plate with real silverware over plastic/styrofoam any day. Small things like this make a difference in comparison to other "fast food" places. I would suggest going to a cafe or other place if you want someone to pick up your dishes for you(where you would tip them). Highly doubt you will get Ebola because you are placing a plate and silverware in a containter with others. I mean unless you plan on rubbing these other plates all over your body once you place yours down?!

  4. My all time quick easy spot to go for lunch ! Fairly healthy! Always fresh!! My fav is the chicken frontega and Ice green tea!!

  5. My love for Panera began on my trips to Jersey when that was the only one I knew. Visiting was an extra special treat. Imagine my joy when one opened up in my backyard!

Initially, yes, this Panera was awful. I happened to be working in the area at the time and was so saddened to see crazy long lines, inept teenage employees, and wrong orders abound. I stayed away for quite some time because I was so disappointed. However, this location has come a very long way.

Now, their employees are friendly and attentive. The food is delish, my favorite is the Sierra Turkey sandwich with Broccoli Cheddar soup. The pastries are also really good, I love the cinnamon roll. And my dad likes to buy loaves of bread to bring home. And if you were there from the beginning, you can totally see the changes.

The seating tends to get taken up by people sitting for hours doing god knows what they cant do at home, which kind of annoys me since I would like to sit comfortably when I eat. However, I usually come here when its not so bad.

Overall, its a great addition to Bay Plaza. How many times can people eat at Checkers, Burger King, and the food court in Kmart when they visit? I can always count on Panera for a delicious, filling meal. The YUM factor is all I ever really care about.

    …oh yeah… clean bathrooms!

  6. You can't really go wrong with Panera; you're getting quality, delicious food at reasonable prices. Their pick two deal is great if you're the kind of eater who likes to a get 'a little bit of this and a little bit of that' like I am. Some of my favorite menu items are the steak and white cheddar panini and the creamy tomato soup. I also hear that the broccoli cheddar soup and mac & cheese are great, too. They also offer healthier sandwiches and salads if you're watching your calorie intake.

There are meal options for just about anyone, including kids. This location also has plenty of seating. The downside is that if you come during high traffic times the lines can get pretty long. But even then you'll still receive your food in a timely manner.

This place has a Starbucks-esque cafe feel, with people studying or working at tables, friends catching up, or people grabbing a bite for their kids after a long day of shopping. As far as food options in the area, Panera is a healthier and definitely tastier alternative to the fast food joints and food court options.

  7. I never thought anything of this place, well because it's in Bay Plaza….BUT let me tell you, this place is seriously UNDERRATED! This is good.

The setup is cool. You see people working on their laptops and nerds playing Pokemon cards….no seriously.

The food surprised me. I had a turkey, bacon panini and an apple salad. I was really surprised how good it was. I was impressed and left feeling like "damn, I have to come back."

It can be a bit pricey, $12 for my lunch, but honestly, it's worth it.

  8. 3/4 stars.

I hate giving in to the corporate food devils, but I did like my experience here. However the prices are stupidly high!

Loved the BBQ salad. The BBQ vinaigrette is truly good and something I have never had before. I would go back to get it again. TomAto soup was just ok.

This Panera offers a lot of space and outlets for people to bring their laptops and do work. I originally just went here to study , but I had to buy food to do so. I would come back here to work and eat.
