“Unlimited toppings, limited but sufficiently varied and interesting list of options that apparently changes weekly.”
“Mo money mo mango- Wasn't my favorite since it was a bit on the sour side but I still thought it was really delicious.”

Friends and I had dim sum in Chinatown and since we were right around the block, we thought we'd pop in here for some ice cream IF the line wasn't ridiculously long. When we got there it was sure crowded, but the line to order at the register didn't seem too bad so we decided to go for it.
They have a menu of all their flavors with pre-selected mix in ingredients, so I'm not sure if you can customize the entire order. However, it does seem like the toppings are unlimited since you pay a flat $7 for the ice cream then tell your ice cream maker afterwards which toppings you want to add.
We ordered the Matcha Made in Heaven which is matcha green tea ice cream with mixed in fresh strawberries. After you order, you have to wait for a station to clear up so the worker can call you up to watch them make the ice cream from liquid to frozen solid rolled ice cream in front of you. The process is cool and probably worth watching like once, but if you're in need of instant ice cream this is not the place. It took us maybe 20-25 mins from ordering to actually having our ice cream.
We asked for graham crackers and pretzel toppings to balance out the sweetness. The texture and presentation was definitely interesting compared to normal ice cream, but the taste was lacking. Not sure if we just ordered the wrong flavor or what, but the green tea tasted powdery and not so matcha-y if thats even possible. We were pretty much underwhelmed and ended up not finishing it even among 3 of us. I didn't exactly hit my sweet toof spot and because of the long lines/wait, I would easily pick some froyo or another ice cream spot over this. But I guess its worth trying at least once (for the pic of course! jk, not really)
Apparently this place gets super long lines but somehow I got there with only one person in front luckily. The hype is definitely what's up with how they make their ice cream and watching them mix the ingredients and scrape them into perfect rolls. Toppings are unlimited which is awesome (as long as it fits in the cup probably) so there's tons of different combinations you can make. Maybe most people just come for the insta but the ice cream is pretty tasty and the short little experience is fun too!
Having your ice cream rolled for you at 10Below is a strangely intimate experience. Once you order your base flavor, your own personal ice cream chef will call you- and only you- over so you can watch him/her mix, mash, slice, dice, and roll your dessert to perfection. I wasn't expecting the whole thing to be so personal.
There was a short line when we arrived on a Wednesday evening in July, but it moved quickly, and we suddenly found ourselves at the register. On a whim, I ordered the Matcha Made in Heaven, a combo of green tea and fresh strawberries. The guy rolling my ice cream didn't go a very good job with the rolls, so the batch was kind of messy and not very picturesque. But the rolls were soon covered with toppings anyway: I got the strawberries, whipped cream and mochi.
Friends ordered the Monkey Business (banana, nutella) and the Strawberry Shandy (strawberry, graham cracker). Of all three flavors, I liked mine the best. The shandy unfortunately seemed to lack flavor. However, the subtleties of the ice cream actually worked really well for the matcha. I loved, loved, loved that it wasn't overly sweet. The treat tasted like a high-quality iced matcha latte, solidified, and with a bit of an icy finish. I didn't think that the mixed-in strawberries added much to the overall flavor, but they didn't exactly detract from it, either. The whole strawberries included as toppings had clearly been frozen, which was disappointing but to be expected. I enjoyed the little balls of mochi.
Miraculously, we were able to snag three seats and eat our rolled cream in relative peace despite the chaos surrounding us. If you're not so lucky, there are several parks located just a few blocks from 10below, so that can be a good option– unless, of course, it's actually 10 below outside. In that scenario, not sure what you'd do.
A strong 3.5 stars. I would definitely come back to try the vietnamese coffee flavor.
The line was super long but I SKIPPED it, I stood right next to the register and with no shame I ordered my rolled ice cream! 😀
I know people might hate me for doing this but I didn't t have a choice. I Walked 20min under the heat and had only one hour to catch my bus. If I waited I would have missed my bus and in the same time I refused to leave without trying it. Don't worry I still waited about 20min after paying…
I got number 8 matcha with strawberries. Minus the horrible wait it was absolutely fun watching them making and rolling up the ice cream.
The ice cream is kind of liquid, they poor it in a cold plate where they do the magic work until the consistency start changing to kinda freezing… then they flatten it and start rolling it.
You get a good size ice cream and You can choose from the unlimited toppings for $7
I think the size, the price and the entertainment it's definitely worth the price but I don't know about the wait :$
I don't think it's worth to wait an hour..
We were very lucky that the line was almost non-existent when we stopped by. We ordered right away and waited for about 5 minutes before they started making our selections. Our group ordered different combos so we can try more flavors. They actually call out your name when it's your turn so that you can see when they make your ice cream.
I got the "I love you a latte" which was coffee ice cream, topped with condensed milk and chocolate chips. So good!! The ice cream was so creamy and I wished I skipped the toppings because it made it a little "too sweet" for my liking. The other peeps got the matcha made in heaven and monkey business. Both were equally delicious as well and apparently, more photogenic than my order so I posted that picture instead.
Yep I'm one of those people. I see a line and I just have to wait in it! Maybe it's my FOMO but I'm just a sucker for a line! After an unforgettable trip to Thailand and trying first hand their amazing rolled ice-cream, I screamed for joy when this place came on the news as the newest "wait in line hotspot". The b/f and I came here on a warm Saturday night and there were already about 50 people in line. It was fun to chat it up with other line waiters and determining what flavor we would get. The lined seemed to move…slowly.
The place itself is very small with only a few stools to sit inside and enjoy your treat. Most people take it to go. There were about 8 employees working that night. All very young looking kids who were working their butts off to get the ice-cream into the hands of their eager customers (kudos to them).
$6 per cup which is high in price but if you're only having it once in a while, not that bad. I opted for the Matcha Green Tea which came with strawberries and I also requested condensed milk and a roasted marshmallow as a topping, per the suggestion of other yelpers. The b/f opted for the Peanut butter flavor.
Toppings are UNLIMITED. You can literally get all of them LOL. The ice cream was prepared just as I saw it in Thailand. Poured onto a cold plate, toppings, chopping, flattening then rolling…something like that.
My matcha was DELICIOUS but i am also a big fan of matcha tea. The b/f's peanut butter was so rich and savory! Thank goodness because it definitely made up for a total wait time of one hour and 40 minutes!!
Super long wait but worth it. Really liked the Thai ice cream flavor it's not common but it tasted so good. The other flavors seemed to chocolaty and heavy so got the Thai flavor and now I'm obsessed.
This place is pure chaos!!! There's always a line waiting to greet you. After you get inside it's super confusion and crazy! The space is tiny and cramped! Be prepared to crawl over people to get your ice cream. This place can be summed up to the equivalent of riding the 6 train during rush hour… Need I say more?
Once you order you wait… And wait and wait. I almost thought that they forgot to make my ice cream I waited so long. This place is a fight waiting to happen. Hungry New Yorkers, pushed so tightly together, elbowing and pushing each other just to get their hands on some ice cream.
So then after you feel like you are going to literally pass out, you get the ice cream! The ice cream! My goodness the ice cream is good. It almost made the chaos worth it!!! I'm not a big ice cream person but this ice cream is like another world! Every single bite is filled with flavor, the texture literally taste like velvet in your mouth!!! It's sooo awesome!
If you can stand a little crazy then guess what!? Go for it! The ice cream is banging! And it's an experience everyone should try at least once!
