“It's a small take out restaurant but the food is fresh and the servings are large enough for two people.”

Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. Came here for their lunch special and got the jerk chicken and their oxtail. It came over a generous amount of rice and beans, side of vegetables, a couple pieces of fried plantain and this delicious gravy sauce.
It was very yummy and delicious. Loved the gravy sauce they pour over it. It went very well with the rice.
Price was very reasonable too. We left very full and happy
More of a takeout place. Only has a few seats
Definitely recommended
I've never been to Jamaica but if all food in Jamaica were like this, I would really consider living there. It's THAT good.
The location is not so great and there are no AC or enough seats there. However, this is definitely worth a go. But I would recommend you to take it to go and eat somewhere else. Service was fast for me even though other reviews said we had to wait 20-30 minutes.
I tried the jerk chicken dish and the oxtail dish. They are super flavorful, perfect seasoning, and it's spot on. The jerk chicken dish is more peppery and has a kick while the oxtail dish has richer flavors. It doesn't look good in pictures or in person but it tastes awesome.
I got small for both dishes and I was happy because the lady packed the to go box. But towards the end of the meal I only regretted not buying the large dish. Yes, it's that good.
I will definitely be returning to try more dishes 🙂
If you are in the area, give this hole-in-the-wall a try. There's a reason why many people gave this restaurant 5 stars.
I eat at this place so often because it is convenient, tasty and drama free. When you are In a sour mood after work and all you want to do is just get your food, lock yourself in the room, watch Friends and eat, This is your place to go. This is my comfort food. The jerk and curry chicken are my favorite. The portions are large.
At first, it amount of the curry intimidated me because I wasn't certain if i would like the taste and now it's all over my rice. I asked for a spoonful and believe me, it was divine.
It works absolutely perfectly with my still-a-little-bit-of-Indian-left palate.
The chicken is wonderfully cooked and tender, the gravy is smoky and sweet. Just talking about it, is producing my unconditional salivation.
For me, parking is always a hassle. They have a street parking here which is almost always full. I usually park across the Anderson street station and walk for 3 mins. The service is fast and I always come here to pick up their pineapple ginger drink. It tickles my taste buds. I like it.
This is the real deal!
You're thinking what does this Asian girl from NJ know about Jamaican food. You're right not much but while in Jamaica I ate 5 days and 5 nights at this hole in the wall (actually there were no walls just a big grill with stools around it). I had the most amazing jerk chicken there and 14 Parish has one that can compete.
14 Parish also has an amazing ox tail stew. I would ask for that sauce on the rice no matter what meat you choose. Service is friendly and prices are reasonable.
More of a take out type of place since they only have 3 two-seater tables. And 2 hour street parking available up and down Anderson.
Thank you 14 Parish for taking me back to Jamaica! Now only if this NJ weather would cooperate.
This was my first time trying Caribbean and I was so impressed! The store itself is pretty small, definitely more a takeout place but they do have some seats if you can't control your hunger and need a quick bite. I went up to the counter not knowing what to order at all. I asked the lady what was good and she suggested the jerk chicken or the oxtail. I wasn't trying to be very daring so I ordered the small jerk chicken. When I got it I was thinking woah thats a lot of food! The chicken came with rice, peas and some cabbage. The chicken was so flavorful with an amazing array of spices and just fell off the bone. Even on a gloomy rainy day the line was out the door and people kept coming and going. Yes I was one of those that had to sit and eat there because I just could not wait! It doesn't look like much on the outside but behind that door is a world of delicious Caribbean cuisine.
Favorite Jamaican take out spot hands down. Everything is offered and available at all times of day, everyday of the week. My favorite is the ackee & saltfish with fried dumplings. I also love their soups….best chicken soup ever with a kick, goat head soup, etc. I also love the curry goat with rice & veggies. Oxtail is also good. And don't forget to wash all the spice down with some ginger beer (not an actual beer). My daughter likes the chicken/beef patties. And also serving size is huge and wait time is short. Love this authentic, hole in the wall but definitely a hidden gem.
