  1. My husband and I were excited to try this place when read heard about it in Time Out New York. We ordered on Seamless last night. Some menu items are labeled as "contains meat" so that was a great tip off for me to make sure I steered clear of those items. I ordered the grilled cheese appetizer to share with my husband and he got the chicken parm and i got the eggplant panini. The grilled cheese description said it was made with lard bread but it did not contain the "contains meat" label so I figured it was vegetable lard. I was wrong about this. Not only was it animal lard, there was pork in the actual grilled cheese (not in the description). I did not realize this until I ate some of it. I was disgusted and furious. And later in the evening, quite ill. My husband ate half of his sandwich and put the rest down. This was not a good sign. He told me he thought he was full. 15-20 minutes later he was quite ill. My eggplant panini was fine but truly nothing special.

This place makes mediocre sandwiches and does not label their menus well. Truly be careful what you order if you have dietary restrictions. Or better yet, go some place else that is better and actually cares about their customers dietary needs.

  2. We found this place on seamless, looking for something different to eat besides the 1,000 Asian restaurants in this neighborhood, and this place listed as a pop up shop had some interesting items, mostly sandwiches but they all sounded delicious. We ordered the grilled cheese sliders which is on Mazzolas bakery lard bread, and if you've ever had lard bread from there you know it's like crack cocaine (very addicting) so to add two different kinds of cheese, and press it like a panini, yum yum yum! So unhealthy but so delicious, wondering why I haven't thought of this. We also ordered the cheesesteak panini, which I enjoyed, wish I could order it for lunch, but seems like they don't open till 5pm. The delivery came very fast, and the food was still very hot. Hope this pop up stays around.
