Definitely just found my new local bar! Nice bar in the front & a restaurant in the back if you want to watch the sporting event in calmer settings.
I ordered the fried calamari. They lacked flavor, but that's what I get for ordering calamari from a bar. At bars, one should always stick with wings, fries and burgers. lol
All in all, I had a great experience here.
While I enjoy supporting a neighborhood bar this one is sort of well you get the feeling if your not a familiar face your not going to get a smile or a friendly face.
My 1st time there about a month ago I was excited to find a cool bar in my neighborhood that looks and feels clean.
Last night my friend and I decided to stop by for food and drinks, place was full which is a good sign but it felt like everyone who was there where from the neighborhood family mafia or some sort nobody even cared or asked if we want to order and with no seats available we left.
To the owners, I see some local bars struggling these days that is because of the nature of our neighborhood which is mostly Irish and Italian so a local joint becomes sorta the family hangout, eventually it might hurt you just like some of the other bars because it keeps the regular folks uncomfortable. My suggestion is add some more tables and chairs and be more welcoming to folks who aren't from the family. Looking forward
I was a bit excited to come back here for dinner after several months, but was a bit surprised as to how much the portion sizes had changed from "can I get the rest of this to go?" to "could we look at the menu again to see what else we'd like to eat?". I am no fatty but I like to see a bit more food on my plate then what I saw today.
My boyfriend and I started with beers and I convinced him from having pasta to just going all out with the appetizers in order to save room for dessert; genius. We go the 3rd and 7 sampler of poppers, wings, and mozzarella sticks, two slider mini burgers, and zucchini sticks. There was four of each from the sampler platter spread out scarcely on a plate and the mini burgers are now the size of meatballs. Honestly, the sliders were a bit of an insult. Since I was still a bit hungry (this was dinner) we ordered honey BBQ wings. There were 8 of them and they weren't great in that sauce; stick to the hot sauce.
Dessert is always awesome as well as the staff. Just please make the sliders a bit bigger.
Came here Saturday night with friends after dinner and the place was jam packed. We did get a bit annoyed with them, since there was an entire back room empty, that they insisted was closed.. We only wanted to sit and have our drinks, but they kept kicking us out..
There was barely any where to stand!
We eventually took some seats and let the ladies do the shots at the bar.. The bartenders were nice and accommodating to the ladies and they did have a good time.
The place does have lots of TVs so its a great sports bar… only not on a Saturday night..
This bar is ok. Granted we stopped in on a Monday night so there was no music at all but football was on the few flatscreen televisions they have on the walls & above the bar. There were maybe 6 other people there so it was quiet & they were playing Jenga at a high top & drinking. At about 12:30 the bartender turned the lights on & made it incredibly known that it was time to go. It's a neighborhood spot to go to when you're in the area which I was & the Peroni on draught was pretty good but not as good as if it was served in the bottle which makes me wonder if they've ever cleaned the tap lines. I'm sure I'd find my way there again when I'm visiting my friend in that part of Brooklyn but it's definitely not a spot to make it a point to make a special point to go to by any means.
An above average bar in an above average neighborhood. Stopped in here for a Rangers game and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much blue had flooded the bar. The bartenders are great and attentive, you won't be struggling to get in an order. As for the food, I didn't order any but everything I saw looked like something I'd eat with my glass of Stella.
If you're looking to sit down and eat or relax, this place obviously isn't for you. However, if you want to catch a game and have a great selection of beer it's definitely worth a shot.
