  1. I work down the street from this place, and have gotten both breakfast and lunch here several times.

The food here is pretty good considering it's just a deli. They have a great selection of meats and cheeses and they make nice big sandwiches for reasonable prices considering how close they are to Times Square. They also have an interesting selection of both easy- and hard-to-find snacks and candies on a large table in the middle of the place.

However, the people who work there are rude.

They have dozens of signs with their 'specialty' sandwiches that have probably been printed off the internet. A couple of times I asked for one by name and was received with blank stares. After pointing to the sign, they rudely asked me what was on the sandwich I asked for. Honestly, they don't HAVE to have these signs up and just be a tell-us-what-you-want-to-eat-and-we'll-make-it place. Pick one.

Four stars for the food, minus one for the rude people making the sandwiches. The cashier was always perfectly nice.

  2. Pleasantly surprised.

We were in a pinch and needed some quick eats, New Years Eve 10pm. Any other place we could get to was way too crowded. So we decided to give this "dive" deli / convince store a go.

My first impression was this place is gonna suck big time but a guys got to eat.

I ordered a corned beef sandwich and the wife ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich. Maybe our expectations were low or a good induced buzz can make subpar food taste really really good. I enjoyed my corned beef sandwich and my wife said her chicken parmesan sandwich was tasty.

I would return even if I wasn't in a pinch or buzzed.
