This is a great place to grab a sandwich that is well-priced and great-tasting. It's definitely a local joint, which I like, and the two other customers that were in line in front of me both were talking familiarly with the guy behind the counter. I stopped there on my way to a friend's place in Clinton, and I'm glad I did.
I got a toasted turkey sandwich, chips, and a drink for about $4.50. I had to wait a little while, since there was just the one guy working, but it is a nice little place with lots to look at. There isn't a place to sit down, you'll have to grab and go. They also sell many items you'd find in a convienence store.
I wouldn't go out of my way to go to 5 Brothers, but would go back again when I'm in the area.
Cheap quick bite, I was starving for a sub and they gave me a huge sub with tons of italian cold cuts for 8$. Definitely hit the spot. This is so perfect for a quick bite.
I've been here at least a dozen times — I have two friends that live nearby, and now it's right in my path whenever I walk home from my nightly adventures in alcoholism and debaucherous rabblerousing.
Last night, walking home after partying like a madman in Chinatown, I decided I wanted a treat — but not just any treat, I wanted something special, so I dug out an old favorite of mine: a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes (on one side) and peanut butter and bacon (on the other side) with ground black pepper (on both sides)… It may sound disgusting, but trust me, it's pretty damn amazing — or at least it can be, when it's made with love.
My sandwich cost $4 which is more than I've paid for it elsewhere, but it was also much better than I've had it anywhere else — they were very generous with the ingredients, and everything was high-quality… It was definitely worth it.
The beer is always ice cold, and priced lower than other bodegas and grocery stores in the surrounding area — which is surprising since this place is actually newer and cleaner and the selection is better and the service is much more friendly…
good food, open 24/7. good prices too. by far the best deli/bodega i've been to in Hell's Kitchen. will deliver too.
