  1. Caught in the rain at Summer Stage, a few friends and I ventured over to 2nd Avenue in search of refuge.

Since 5 Napkin Burger was the closest casual restaurant to where we were, we ducked inside and spent several hours over a round of drinks and a few appetizers while we waited it out.

Although the drinks were tasty, they were light on alcohol, and the food was overly salted.

Furthermore, the atmosphere was reminiscent of suburbia, which was depressing.

But it saved us from the rain.

  2. With a plethora of burger chains to choose from, 5 Napkin surprised me.  The menu is a little weird… offering burgers obviously, but also sushi.  I don't quite understand the concept, and I didn't order the sushi.  What I did order was the Asiago Turkey burger and it was great.  Big flavors, with the asiago cheese, cherry pepper relish and pesto mayo were fantastic together.  Really good fries topped off the meal.  I will definitely be back to try their beef burgers and even their salads which looked delicious.  Don't think I'll try the sushi tho.  Still scratching my head on that one.

  3. They're not always on par yet I keep coming here because for what it offers its ok.

Sometimes medium rare becomes medium well despite what we request. The burger meat is seasoned well. I haven't really fallen into a favorite on the burger menu. I think the best would be a simple burger. Option number two cheeseburger seems to fit that bill the best. The avocado ranch was decent and the Korean option was ok but I think overall I don't like it when there is too much Jazz on my burger.

I got ribs once. The bbq sauce (sticky rum) that comes with that is good. They really skimp on the fries. They used to come with burgers and now they're extra. I think I got a kids meal equivalent last time I ate there. The sweet potato have more life to them although both taste fine to me.

The steak is kind of sadly cooked. The Rosemary butter is good but the cut of meat I got was not medium rare as requested. They seem to be afraid of rare.

Not consistent but good when it's done well.

  4. I really enjoyed my experience at this 5 napkin burger location! Our server Alan was attentive, pleasant and friendly. We started off with a glass of Prosecco and Malbec since it was my good friend and former coworker's bday! What a good way to wine down on a Monday. We had the Panko onion rings that came piled high on stick. They were delightfully crispy, warm, with just the right amount of salt. I loved that our meals came out in a timely manner as I was definitely hungry and ready to eat. I had the veggie patty that had so many yummy elements to it I definitely tasted shredded carrots, peas, maybe lentils, but my favorite thing about it was that it was crispy which was a great way to top this salad. The peppers, greens, cucumbers, pickled onions, all fell into place nicely with the dish and we're all very fresh. We had the espresso brownie sundae as my friends bday blow out your candle dessert, and it was really yummy. I only wish there were bigger chunks of the brownie available in the sundae and that the ice cream would have been a salted caramel which is only available as a milkshake. In any case I would definitely come back and look forward to another great experience!

  5. How good of a burger was this?  I'd say 3/5 for the 5 napkin burger.  I'm pretty disappointed in the missing toppings: tomatoes, lettuce, pickles.  Come on, can't really make it "5 napkin" without those.  That being said, this is a big, beefy, meaty burger with very tasty cheese.  Both the regular and sweet potato fries are amazing.  Great beer selection.

  6. For happy hour, this place is as good as it gets. $2 sliders, $2 sushi handrolls, and drink specials. I am so glad this place opened up in my neighborhood!

The restaurant is clean and looks like any old chain, but the deals are just out of this world.

This will definitely be my new happy hour place in the neighborhood.

  7. Decent place to grab a burger. Menu is a bit bizarre, in that they offer burgers, tacos, sushi and a take on Chinese stir fry – just seems a little disjointed. The burgers are perfectly good, but I think the JG Melon burgers (only a few blocks away) are far superior and also cheaper. The french fries are good. Skip the onion rings.
