Great neighborhood shop to pick up a bottle for any occasion. Also I think right now its really the only option in the area, unless you want to try that mysterious, dust covered "wine" from the lower shelves of Western Beef. Just wine- no spirits or anything extra- but they have a nice mix of regions and prices ranges. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, definitely recommend stopping in.
They also have great weekend wine tastings (with food!) and a mailing list you can join. This place rocks!
I adore 65 Fen. It's a great wine shop and a meaningful part of the community. It's a tiny little spot, so it almost feels like your entering your personal wine cellar. Quite frankly…it's just lovely. I've been going here for some time and I'm always met with a smile and honest recommendation. I appreciate the chat and how my sometimes ambivalent mood about wine is never taken personally. If I'm just not feeling a particular suggestion today, ok that's fine, try something else, or peruse at your leisure and decide. No pressure. The inventory is mindfully built to be varied for different price points and taste profiles and the owners are well versed and well traveled enough to speak on wine and how your day went. It's more than just picking out a bottle when you visit. It's a wonderful conversation and reminder of what a community is all about.
As for the wine, I've picked up some great reds here. Definitely inquire within about their Spanish and Italian reds. There are some really good affordable options when you need to pick something up for a dinner party or for yourself to make that long day at work disappear!
