  1. It was only ok. My sister was starving and didn't want to wait for Nan Xiang next door, so we wandered in here because of the Taiwanese fare.

We sat next to a giant fish tank and it was fun to watch the fishes blow kisses unknowingly at all the customers. We ordered beef noodle soup, ground pork with rice, kong xin cai (hollow heart vegetable?), and another beef with veggies dish. It was all decent fare, but nothing incredibly memorable. I think this place would be good for groups, and there never seemed to be a queue so you don't have to wait for a table.

Also the waitress shamed us for asking for white rice in addition to what we ordered!

Otherwise, I'd say that you'd be better off going to one of the food courts or Nan Xiang next door for dumplings.

  2. Lu Rou Fan (minced pork over rice) w/ a Taiwanese tea egg for ~$5… this is why I love Flushing. Classic Taiwanese staple; so filling & satisfying & delish ahhh I could eat this every day. I can't speak to the rest of the menu but tbh does anything else matter..?

Wait actually yes, the beef noodle soup, I will have to try next time.

  3. If you're looking for some authentic Taiwanese food, this place is a good contender! Some stand out dishes are lu rou fan, stinky tofu, oyster omelette, and fried pork. The lu rou fan is better than average, the stinky tofu is especially tasty as it provides the perfect kick of spicy with some kimchi on top, the oyster omelette is decent not excellent, and the fried pork is very flavorful. After the meal, you can head over to snow days for some shaved ice dessert. For some bonus points, this place is right next to a pokestop for those of you that are into catching Pokemon.

  4. I love their beef & tomato over rice and the pork chop over rice. Prices have gone up a little over the years ($7.50 as of 2/16 for the pork chop). It's a cash only place. Those 2 dishes I found to be particularly good but other dishes are just okay. The food comes out pretty fast. Service is a hit or miss. Last time, it was good, they kept my cup of tea full. They're supposedly moving soon to a Kissena location as of a few months ago but they're still there on prince & roosevelt as of now.  Their hours have changed though, they used to be open til 2 or 3am, but now they close around midnight.

  5. I've been coming to Prince 66 for years now. My father introduced me to this little spot when he fell in love with their wonton soup. He raved about it and it definitely lives up to the hype.
Located in the heart of Flushing on Prince, is Prince 66. This is very no frills Taiwanese dining. This is a small Mom and Pops stop for basic grub.

The Wonton Soup is delicious. Filled with fresh vegetables and a delicious broth. The wontons are very light in weight. My staple item here is the flavorful Ginger Basil Chicken and white rice. Pair that with the the light fluffy white rice, you've got a very filling meal.  This dish is very aromatic and chocked full of flavor. I can taste the fresh ginger and basil as I type this.

There isn't much of an ambiance. A few tables on on the lower and upper level and a cute fish tank with Parrot fish in it. I wish this place we're renovated and more attractive but it serves it's purpose. Affordable authentic grub for the late night prowlers.

  6. What a letdown! Two bad things happened when I came to this place:

    1) When I ordered Beef Stew on Rice I was expecting the traditional beef stew that traditionally consists fat and slim beef combined with vegetables cooked slowly in a saucy base. However, what they provided me was beef shank on rice.

I have previously encountered that some Chinese restaurants are unable to properly translate their menus from Chinese to English. Maybe this restaurant doesn't have the proper English translation to its menu… I suggest this restaurant should revise its English translation of its menu to see if it truly reflects the type of dish it means for its customers.

    2) The waitress was so distracted that she gave my take out to someone else. They had to cook another take out from scratch. Thus, I had to wait for longer time than expected for my take out…

  7. More of a 3.5 star review but since I was starving and the food was fast, I'll give it 4 stars. First of all, get the pork with bamboo over rice! I literally get it every time I come here and it's delicious. I also tried the tomato and shrimp over rice. It was pretty meh, I wouldn't order it again. Serving sizes are just enough to get you content. Come here if you want some fast food or if it's really late at night. Waitress was super nice

  8. This was the go-to spot for Taiwanese pork chop since the college days. Portions are huge and taste is authentic. Prices have gone up in the years but quality of food stayed the same.

Love the pork chop over rice and the 3 cup chicken here.

Service can be a hit or miss as the waitresses speak little to no English.

Beware of the notorious stinky tofu. The rotten stench is something I often come across when eating here. Try not to lose your appetite 🙂
