“I'll definitely be back for more – what an awesome hidden gem in our much gourmet-buffet deprived neighborhood!”
“It is located on the bottom floor of the One Grand Central Building, which is not easily seen from the street.”
“Quality and food is noticeably better than all neighboring places, e.g. Essen, Sarah's, Marche Madison, etc. I'd strongly recommend trying it out, but I don't want it to get too crowded!”

6b is a solid choice for fast and decent lunch in Grand Central.
Pros:
* Spacious food court. When we go around 1-2PM you don't have to wait for a communal table.
* Lots of food options. I personally go for the sushi where you can try a medley of different rolls from Tempura Shrimp, Spicy Crunchy Tuna/Salmon, regular Tuna/Salmon, eel and crab rolls. 6 rolls and pinch seaweed salad for under $7. The freshness of fish and fish-rice ratio is great!
* Also love the Shumai and Sauteed Mushrooms.
Make sure to watch how much you're putting in your box because it can quickly rack up to over $15!
I love the vast selections of foods here. From sushi to chicken to fish to salad bar. With lots of snacks laying around too – chips, cookies, Asian snacks, and drinks. It's a more upscale buffet place when compared to Essen. The modern decor and spacious eating arrangements made me fall in love with the place. It's located on the bottom floor of the One Grand Central building. Although it can get pricey if you start grabbing everything mindfully, it is totally worth it!
This place is super convenient being that I work right here. Awesome variety of delicious food, yet to try it all hehe. My favorites are usually the Shrimp Fried Rice (way better than Chinese take out), avocado salad and veggie spring rolls.
The only downside is that the place runs a be pricey, but then again it's The City! Specially recommend this place if you work here!
Can we move our office upstairs? SHA-BAM! Totally nailed gourmet buffet styled eatery. I love the modern decor and spacious seating arrangement. It was a bit of a challenge to actually find the place – it's not IN Grand Central but rather the One Grand Central building. If you're entering from 42nd street, go straight through the revolving doors, take the first left and you'll find Chase to your right and 6b to your left. Welcome to work lunch heaven.
Now, I can say that it's a tad bit pricier than other buffet styled gourmet delis, but this is no average joe deli – it's top notch and reminds me of first class airport lounge food service areas (just 5 times larger).
It gets extremely packed with lines worming in zig zags around noon but that's not unexpected, with so many offices in close proximity.
$3.5/half pound for breakfast and $5/half pound for lunch. I just have to learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to making sure my box isn't filled with unnecessarily large amounts of juice from hot dishes. The salads were fresh and I could tell that the freshness rang true for alllllll of the dishes – everything was remarkably well seasoned. The sushi corner is quite popular – there's one guy sweating his arse off trying to making as many nigiri sushi pieces as he can without it being taken off the tray the moment it lands.
A pound at $10 barely filled me up, so be prepared to shell out at least $15 if you want a hearty meal that's not just the light weight stuff like salad.
A large sized coffee (only comes in two sizes) was $3.75. It wasn't the best iced coffee I've tried in the area, but it's definitely not the worst either. It was bold and had a bitter aftertaste to it.
I watched a lot of people getting fresh squeezed juice and I'm planning on trying it one day, but I'm more eager to really get around all that the buffet area has to offer! The seating area will get packed so unless you're coming before noon, don't expect to find a seat. The cashiers are quick and efficient for the most part – the lines were on a fast track.
I'll definitely be back for more – what an awesome hidden gem in our much gourmet-buffet deprived neighborhood!
