One of the better 7 elevens in the bronx. I dont know if its because of the college or the busy people who commute on the train near by. But i have never had complaints with this location.
If your a fan of pastry they always have fresh ones out at all times of day, and foods that are oven heated are constantly being replenced because people are buying them up as soon as they come out the oven.
This seven eleven is my go to coffee, fruit cup, and candy bar spot before, during and after work. While all seven elevens are typically the same the reason I enjoy going to this one is because of the service I receive.
I'm always warmly greeted from the staff there especially the manager, Shekhar. Everytime I come in he asks me about my day and is super friendly. I really appreciate that when it's early in the morning and I haven't had my coffee to feel up enough to socialize with people yet.
Shekhar isn't the only friendly person there. Generally all of the staff is pleasant and very helpful. One time I was unsure of how to use the machine for hot chocolate and I had someone literally walk me through it. It seems like a small feat but when they're super busy it's great that someone has enough patience nowadays to still help out.
There's always panhandlers outside opening the door and expecting money.
The coffee is gross. At first I thought it was because I got the Columbian coffee but the following day I got the regular and it too had a weird taste.
The iced coffee section never has mediumn size cups so you're forced to buy large.
I used to go to the 7/11 in my sisters town in NJ & it was always so good. They had so many different flavored creams. I especially liked that they had then single serve hershey caramel.
I love to stop here for there fresh fruit on my way to work. Not crazy about the prices but it is one the best spots for decent fruit in this neighborhood besides walking all the way to Lincoln hospital or Targets. The hot food is not bad either for the price but just a typical 7-11.
No diet dr. P *i hunt for the locations that have it* and the guy wouldn't scan my 7-11 app to get my rewards. Said it was too late. The food in their warmers looked really old and burnt. Maybe just not a very active location..?
It's a pretty standard 7-Eleven store. There's a sign outside its door that says "EBT for Hot Food Accepted Until _____" but it's really odd because they keep extending it. At first it was until December 31 2012, but then it got extended to January 31, then to February 28. I swear, they just keep putting those signs out there each month and they'll accept Food Stamps forever.
I usually stop by for the 6 cheese pizzas and the mini-tacos or taquitos. They're usually all pretty good, my favorite being the pizza. They are all really cheap ($1-$2). There is usually this lady in front of the store in the mornings who opens the door and asks for change, so if you're wondering as you walk in why there is a doorman, she's actually not a part of the store.
