  1. On the corner of Sip and Bergen in Journal Square, this 7-Eleven in Jersey City is pretty spacious. I think it's a better experience going here after the renovation. The layout of the store is better than the previous one and makes more sense. The coffee station is in a good spot within the store.

I mean, this is a 7-Eleven. There isn't a lot of variety when it comes to a chain convenience store. I give it a 3 stars because it serves a need for locals in Journal Square and the proprietors keep it clean and stocked. The cashiers move fairly quickly, and you can get in and out of there swiftly. Well, that's at least my experience.

I haven't had a bad experience in there. Really, customers just go in and out of there, and no one loiters in the store. Like many urban areas, there are some homeless and panhandlers that station outside of 7-Eleven sometimes, but that's just a reality of the neighborhood. I haven't had a bad encounter with anyone; they will just ask for money sometimes. They are not terribly aggressive or anything like that (again, that's my experience).

Don't be shook and get a cup of coffee 🙂

  2. Over the last year, I've been a frequent customer of this 7 Eleven being that my office is across the street. And for the majority of that time the store format was a huge issue.  But since reconstruction,  it would remind you of 7 Eleven stores off the highways that have enormous space. The new look also has other perks like cleaniness of the coffee area, more people at the registers, aisles of food are more accessible. The management seems to be okay, but don't bother asking them for help, they couldn't be bothered.

Only disclaimer I'll make is if you're not familiar with the area take caution.  The plethora of homelessness is staggering and if you are the kind of sort to give money to them every time then you will go broke. They are near the entrance and on the sidewalk outside the store. I work with LMI and mentally ill clients in Hudsob County and I've lived in JC practically my whole life, so I know how to handle it. But just so you know.
