This 7-Eleven makes me nervous when I go here. There's always someone looming around inside that has no business being by there. I don't like giving my change away while I'm grabbing food, gross. But the location is great near 2 major roads. And a quick walk from my barber, I usually grab a slurpee after my cut
What was once hell is now heaven. This location was once home to a disgusting convenience store and shady gas station. Now, it's a sleek Shell station and, more importantly, a brand new and beautiful 7-Eleven.
The green, orange and white awning is blindingly bright and can be seen from a few blocks away. The store itself is spotless, the service is quite good (it's Astoria after all) and the Slurpees and sandwiches are, as expected, super delicious.
Sure, it's kind of an odd location, but it's perfect for Northern Boulevard drivers who need gas and R train commuters entering/exiting the 36th Street stop.
It's time to start a movement: Less bodegas, more 7-Elevens!
