When it first opened they were friendly. Now staffed by aloof people, but that's okay. It's just 7-11. The neighborhood didn't need another chain. Filled with preservative-filled pastries, junky pizza, and all of the bad processed food you would expect. I only go here if I need an emergency fast coffee (though there are at least 3+ independent coffee shops within a block that are much better), OR a delicious fountain soda – served in a plastic cup that will be thrown in a trash can and will sit in a landfill for one million years (don't worry – i live nearby and recycle!).
Summer comes humidity with intense, oppressive heat and lunch time after 4pm when beginning the work day at 10:15am offers little option for freshness and food availability. I opt for 7-Eleven's signature cherry flavor Slurpee for a cool down at $1.99. Since I can't intake alcohol while on the job, I want a virgin Pina Colada Slurpee which was disappointingly diluted into a water base without ice and was not entirely frozen. It has been years since my libation on 7-Eleven's Slurpee but the humidity and intense, oppressive heat calls upon a cool down. One turkey with Monterey jack cheese sandwich at $4.99 and a banana at $1.09, all in all comprises of my very delayed lunch at the seventh hour toward the end of my work day.
