This review is for the Water St/ Hanover Sq location. At around 12:30pm, my co worker and I have decided to grab lunch, there were many food cart options around my work place but I saw A-Pou's Taste cart so I told him I'll give them a try. I must be really hungry because I totally did not notice the sign of a bad cart- there were lines for EVERY SINGLE food truck/cart around the area except for this one and remember this is during lunch hour. But since I was there already, I thought i might as well give it a go. I saw two Indian gentlemen inside the truck and they politely greeted and asked me what I want. I ordered the potsticker along with the shrimp fried rice. While I was ordering, some lady and her friend walked by and I heard one lady said to another " don't eat there, that cart sucks." and I was like crap… this is bad. Since they were already preparing the food for me, I decide to stick it out. When I was paying for my food, one of the gentleman told me he will give me a free comp. soup and I am like sure, I'll take the corn chowder! Got back to work and opened up the box. everything smells good- good sign I thought to myself until I took a bite of the potsticker. The Potsticker was greasy, the skin was hard and the meat inside was extra salty… I was super disappointed since I love potstickers.. Then I move ahead to the shrimp fried rice. The shrimp fried rice was bland, the shrimps were very overcook and it's like chewing rubber. Texture on the rice were very mushy and weird so I stop eating after 2 bites.
I'm not sure if these were same owners as the original A-Pou Taste cart from other Yelp reviews, but they definitely don't seem to be the same…
