My 2nd day at CVS. I offered to get lunch for my pharmacist and the tech and myself. We wanted the same thing, and my pharmacist wrote it down on a blank piece of prescription paper.
So I went into this ultra authentic looking Italian deli with a CVS prescription for a sorpressata/provolone/vinegar/peppers/and whatever else on a ciabatta roll. The lady took it, analyzed it, and went on to tell the guys in the back to make them.
I guess she must've thought I couldn't understand broken English with an Italian accent, because next thing I overheard was, "…CVS Pharmacy…" "…pharmacists are rich!" "oOoooOh…"
Then, she came back with 2 huge rolls already made and said, "We don't have ciabatta, is a hero alright?" To which I replied smiling, in my famished state, "Yeah sure." Inside my head I was thinking, "Fuck you, trying to jack up the price, but YES! NOW!" Then I asked her how much they were, and they came out to 8 bucks each. She said, "Oh, it's okay, you can come back with more money," implying that she knew I wasn't expecting to pay that much for lunch.
But bitch, I have money, aiite?
True classic, Italian food at it's best! Best selection of homemade foods, also the freshest and best cut cold cuts. Imported prosciutto is not to be missed. There cookie selection is as authentic as you can get. Great selection of imported Italian specialties and let's not forget the olives and fresh mozzarella. The service is quick but not rushed, and they keep the line moving along. Assorted selection of great pastas and you'll want to make a regular stop here when you're in the neighborhood.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Just walking in I feel like I'm walking into a deli from Italy. (Not that I've been there but this is what I would imagine there delis to look like!). From fresh vegetables, to imported pastas, oils, breads, to some Italian china.
We come here for our sandwiches and cold cuts which are always so fresh and delicious. We sometimes treat ourselves to some of the best proscuitto in queens! I am a big fan of this place, I like it better here than Marino's!
