A Spice Lane
“I tried the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and samosa – it was OFF THE CHAIN!!”
“The place was empty at 4pm when I went which was a good odd time, and then I was out by around 5:30 with only one other family.”
“This place is a real gem in the neighborhood and is just clean and comfortable, with good food and great service.”

Reasonable priced, delivered via seamless. Their papri chat is a mix of potatoes, tomatoes, raw onions, and crispy bites in a minty sauce- super cute, I really like that.
Vindaloo is hot compare to most curry places in NYC. Overall love the place, and will order again.
There aren't many Indian restaurants in the 5 block radius of this place, so I decided to try it out.
Went to a early afternoon lunch and was happy to find that they have a lunch buffet. Choices were pretty good – it wasn't a huge selection, but they were charging a reasonable $11 or so. Chicken tikka masala wasn't too buttery or creamy, which suited my palate.
The place was pretty empty. They do seem to have a good number of Seamless orders. Seems like a new business so I hope they're able to stick around for a while.
If you like Indian curry, I think you'll like this place! My bf and I ordered from Spice Lane over Seamless because we were honestly too lazy (eh typical). The food came pretty quickly and portions were good! I got the Chicken Tikki Masala and he got the Lamb Vindaloo. Really big chunks of meat and more than enough curry to eat your rice with 🙂 I especially liked my dish because 1) it has this slight sweetness and 2) it wasn't as spicy as the vindaloo dish. My bf liked his dish though so, definitely recommend that if you're a fan. I can see myself ordering this again (but probably over Seamless).
Piggybacking on what Harry mentioned, I've ordered lunch to-go from this spot twice now and left disappointed on both visits. A simple order of chana masala with rice, ends up being a scoop of chana over a huge container of rice. For what it's worth, the chana tastes OK, but it's not a filling or satisfying lunch in the least. To boot, they have the lunch buffet set up when you walk in, so you get to see a large amount of food (in quantity and offerings), yet walk away with what amounts to a pint of rice.
TL;DR: Stay for the $10.95 lunch buffet, don't order lunch to-go.
Minus 1 star for slow service and not refilling the rice.
Aside from that, the food is good. They don't have chicken curry but they have chicken Tikka Masada and ginger chicken. Although their buffet is small, both meat and veggie options are available.
For Manhattan, $10.95 for a buffet is good, but when you see how small the buffet is…
This review is long overdue, and it concerns MULTIPLE times that I've had their food.
Incredible portions, and amazing flavor. Honest to god, the Paneer Tikka is so flavorful, spicy, and packs such a punch that I debate having some every day of my life. It's consistently (I've had it 6 or 7 times through delivery, it's the only food I get delivered) incredibly, and hot when it arrives.
It's a tad spicy, but the flavors are rich and the paneer chunks are plentiful. Great with the rice, or with the excellent Garlic Naan.
