The food's terrible. Really not sure what all the rave reviews are about. I am not kidding when I say this is some of the worst Thai food I've ever had. The pad thai was light brown in color – where's the tamarind sauce? Minus points for lack of authenticity. No flavor at all! It looks like they made these noodles in less than five minutes and didn't even try. The pad see ew was also terrible. It was a giant container of thick noodles drowned in a sauce that tasted like watered down soy sauce and added sugar. I ordered both noodles in medium spice… there was ZERO spice, zero flavor, zero attempt at making it spicy.
I tried to stuff my face with it because I was starving, but I eventually tossed it. Disappointing. I couldn't even pretend to like it.
I guess the one consolation was that it was cheap-ish…. $11 for a pad see ew isn't that cheap?
Maybe it was just an off night, but compared to the other thai places in midtown this is not worth a second try.
The food was ok. Got the Pad Thai (veggie & tofu) and the Mega Ball as an app. It's a normal Thai place, so it was ok, but I've had better. They also did not rush the check which was nice, but we were on a timeline so that was a little inconvenient. Would only come back if I was in the area.
Here is how I initially found out about this place. I was walking to work one morning, and a guy was standing on the sidewalk, handing out the menus for the restaurant. I decided to try it for lunch one day, and it didn't take long for me to become a regular.
I often just get a few appetizers here, my absolute favorite being the curry puff, which consists of curried chicken and potatoes in a puff pastry shell (almost like an empanadilla).
The mega ball appetizer (another favorite) is made with ground chicken and shrimp. You can get it steamed or fried. I always get the fried version, and always enjoy it.
The pumpkin curry is delicious, and I also like their sriracha fried rice and their pad see ew noodles. I have always enjoyed everything I have ever eaten here. I have also brought friends here on multiple occasions, and the curry puff and the pumpkin curry are great favorites with them too.
Wow. Despite the scoutmob coupon I feel like I wasted money dining here with my gf.
Let's start from the Pad Thai. Tasteless, spineless, ingredients not fresh, slimy, very dry chicken (felt like it was pre-cooked). It came in less than 5 minutes after we ordered it, which can only be bad news.
Mega roll dumplings. tasted and looked like they were left waiting for a while, low quality meat, the garnish looked as old as my spare pair of glasses.
I have absolutely no reason to ever go back.
Why can't I find a Thai place in NYC that is consistently good? WHY?
Looooved the sweet and sour chicken. It had a nice kick to it but not too much. It was perfect!!!!
A-OK. I had dinner just before they closed on a weeknight and was the only customer. It took about 5-10 minutes for anyone to approach me (I sat myself), but they were attentive after that. The food came quickly. The Fresh Summer Roll was very good. The Cashew Nut with Jasmine Rice was also very good.
It's an okay Thai place. The place got a nice clean feel. The service lacks a Little . Ordered their veggie fried rice with calamari. It was a bit on the mushy side. Taste was ok.
The lunch special is an excellent deal, and the food is delicious.
Place is nice, but nothing really special.
Have never been there for dinner, but the lunch special is sweet !
