  1. As I write this review, I think will it really matter? Maybe to the opinion of someone in the area or attempting to dine here. The reason is Abitino Pizzeria is among just another one of the many pizzerias in New York City. Actually, there's more than one location. I say that because the pizza is average. I base this solely on their Sicilian pizza. The dough could use work, meaning it is a little off pizza dough quality, the dough has more of a little pita or bread bite to it. The sauce had little character to it and the mozzarella was just pieces of soft separated clumps.  For $2.95 each, I expected better. Not that the pizza was bad but nothing I would consider revisiting unless I was in the area (I'm just a visitor to these parts) for another item on the menu like the buffalo wings, regular slice ($2.75) or various specialty slices on display. On the bright side they have one of my favorite sodas: Stewart's Orange n' Cream for $1.30. And little bottles of wine and beer in the fridge. Their menu list a good selection of Italian fair foods.

The decor makes this place nice. And the fact that is is very clean. The walls are lined with images of ancestors making sausage, pizza and even one getting in trouble by a police officer from the old days.

  2. Decent inexpensive pizzeria…good spot for lunch.

  3. Holy ravioli I've had bad pizza before but perhaps not this bad.  Inedible, flavorless hard-as-a-rock crust.  Tons of sauce that tasted of metal – like tomato paste (not sauce) that was in a can for 80 years.

  4. I got seamless from here last week, and had the eggplant hero. Everything it was supposed to be, no surprises.

Based on that I may order pizza soon.

  5. I was in the neighborhood and needed to grab a quick lunch so I popped into the first pizza place I saw. The pizza was "meh", pretty bland and one of those slices that gets worse the more you eat it. The garlic knots were dry hunks of thick dough with some garlic sprinkled on top.

  6. I like Abitino's.  It doesn't look like much from the outside but I think that's what adds to its charm.

The inside has your traditional pizzeria setup in the front.  There is a seated area in the back with tables and flat-screen TVs.  The guys here are always very friendly.  The pies are always fresh and piping hot.  I've also found that the prices here are way better than most other pizza places in the area.  They make a great Sicilian slice and awesome garlic knots.  Delivery is also fast and friendly and they have late hours for those of you who want pizza at a random time.

  7. It was a hot and sunny day when hunger pains hit the old tummy. I needed a place to eat with plenty of AC for comfort and light food so I could continue my stroll. Oh yeah, the establishment had to start with the letter A, B or C.

Abitino Pizzeria just happen to come across my radar and my two requirements. Slice plain with 20oz Coke for $4.50. About right for the neighborhood.

Slice was good.  Thin slice with a crispy crust. Very light with ratio of cheese to sauce to crust just right. Excellent slice for the price.

The menu seems extensive with appetizers, salad, hot hero's, main entrees, pasta dishes and an assortment of varies slices and pies. Minimum $8 on credit card.

Abitino Pizzeria has something for everyone. Lots of options and price points. Good choice if in the area. I am sure this place rocks at lunch time.

  8. If you want take out—you have to go there because I'm not sure they actually make a pizza for you until you are there.  We ordered ahead and once we got there we had to wait 15 minutes which is about how long it takes to make a pizza.
Spinach pizza was average. It's a solid choice in the are for pizza if you don't want to walk more than three blocks.
