  1. I really wanted to love Adrienne's since it's just a couple blocks away from my home and located on the fun Stone Street, but it's just not my style.  🙁

I had their pizza about a year or two ago and I remember it being very heavy/grandma style which isn't really for me.  Mind you, I am a huge pizza fan but I prefer crispy thin pizza or Neapolitan style.

I took my parents back to Adrienne's twice within the last year just because my dad prefers a simple Italian menu over anything else.  The arugula salad is fine, but the grilled chicken I added on top the second time around was not good (tasted like chicken on a Wendy's salad).  Their meatballs also taste kind of "fake" – not sure how else to describe it – but something you'd expect to taste from a frozen meal or a fast food joint.  My dad had the chicken parm both times and seemed to be content with it.

Last night's meh dinner will put an end to dinners at Adrienne's for me.  The best Italian restaurant in the area (one of my favorites in the city) is Il Brigante at the Seaport.  They make a good pizza too!

  2. My sister and I had the rolatini. It was pretty good but there was way too much cheese. The expression "you can never have too much cheese" proves to be false here.

I could barely detect the eggplant due to the smothering flavor of the cheese. However, the overall flavor was fantastic and it looks and tastes homemade, which is the best part of Italian places. I will say that the cheese was perfectly melted and bubbly over the top; it was aesthetically pleasing. The marinara had a good balance of sweet and acidity from the tomatoes.

  3. Was here yesterday for a late lunch with friends and few times before that. Very nice place. We had our daughter with us and our friends had a baby and service dog. Already, sounds tough but the staff and owner were very accommodating. They made sure to give us a great spot for our stroller and make us comfortable. Waiter was great very understanding. He took our order quickly. We went for Portobello salad, eggplant parmesan and mushroom calzone.

Salad was great and definitely fresh. Eggplant parmesan hit the spot although,I remember it being more spicer for some reason. Calzone came out little burned, but still good. Service was excellent. Waiter always coming around and check-in on us. My daughter was being fussy and didn't want to sit in her stroller, my husband and I took turns taking her around the restaurant. They were really understanding about this as I am sure was a nuisance since, they had to go around us to service others.

Overall, excellent place to grab a bite. Pizza is delicious, staff is friendly and location is great. They have tables outside and with weather getting nice should definitely give it a try.

  4. Dopest spot, dopest staff, by far the dopest pizza. Such a supreme experience!  If you are any where near Battery Park go to this spot!! Sat outside amidst a walking street of food paradise. The old fashion pizza was perfect! The dough light and airy, fresh ingredients, so supreme. Of all the pizza I've eaten in the city, they are the champion…for now

  5. I knew I would like this as soon as saw the outdoor seating in the street.  The host was attentive and entertaining, service was great and the energy on the whole strip was live.

We did mimosas and a half peppers/ half olives & extra cheese pie.  Delish.
Nice size to share plus some to go.  If I had one peeve, I would've liked more cheese.  I take extra cheese seriously… like it can be equally proportioned to the crust, yea.

Maybe next time I'll say double extra cheese.
    Otherwise, loved it.

  6. I don't usually do reviews after one visit but the service here sucked so bad I won't be back. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because the pizza was pretty good.

A buddy of mine and I came for lunch, we have jobs, we have to get back to work. Adrienne's should know this about the area. We ordered a pizza, over an hour and a half later we finally left.

The pizza took an hour…an hour. We saw tables that came after us, order, get their food, pay and leave before we even got our pie. The waiter, flat out, was a dick. Never came to check in, I had to basically yell to get his attention and ask where the pizza was, he gave me the "1 minute and rolled his eyes (this was at the 45 minute mark). He comes back 5-6 minutes later and says 2 minutes, that's it. He says it while walking by not even stopping. Those 2 minutes actually meant 10 minutes. So an hour after we ordered the pizza arrived, because this guy probably didn't put it in.

He comes over, drops it I think said sorry for the wait, but he mumbled and walked away. Water went empty, my buddy's iced tea went empty. We again had to try and flag this guy down to get the check. He just puts it down, no apologies, nothing doesn't say thank you. No offer of hey my bad, here's 5 bucks off, something, anything.

Nope, never coming back, service sucks. It's New York, there are always other pizza options.

  7. OMG.

This pizza obviously includes a sprinkling of magic because it is hands down the best pizza I have had in NYC.

I can't wait to have it again.

  8. Adrienne's is special to me because it's where I went on my first date with my boyfriend!

The atmosphere there is great. Definitely good for dates (obviously), but also a good place to go with a friend, or a small group (more than four would be pushing it).

The pizza is wonderful, but it's heavy. So be go hungry and be ready to eat a lot. I think of it as a cold weather / dreary day kind of pizza. Also, the wine selection is good too.

    I highly recommend it!
