I will fully admit I have never really been a fan of Indian food, more because I was just never exposed to it than disliking it as I am a fan of spicy food. One of the nice side effects of Yelp is it inspires me to try new things so when I saw this menu in the lobby of the Princess's building we decided to give it a try.
We wanted to get a nice sampling and probably went a tad overboard but we tend to do that. We ordered th Ka-Chori because the menu said "too complicated to explain but its highly recommended". Now how do you turn that down? It turned out to be a cold chickpea and some sort of grain salad. It was kinda spicy and served cold. I thought it was ok but nothing special but the Princess liked it alot. I liked the Banana Pakora which is a banana fritter and had a nice, sweet taste. I was a big fan of the vegetable samosas,I am a big fan of Samosas and these did not let down. The Alu Tikka which is a potato cake was pretty good as well. The only app that failed was the Agra fish sticks which didnt taste much different than Mrs Pauls.
For mains I got the Lamb Vindalu ans was very pleased, it was the star of the dinner for me and a close second for the Princess. The lamb was amazingly tender and the sauce was spicy enough to make the brow sweat but still very flavorful and spooned over the Basmati Rice it was delicious. Her main was the chicken Korma which was chicken in a creamy almond sauce and I wasnt a fan, thought the chicken was dry and the sauce was bland.
They serve the meal with a ton of condiments and honestly we werent sure what went with what so we just tried them all. The cucumber sauce was the fave. The Naan bread was pretty good even if mine was a tad underdone and the Mango Lassis we got were a nice heat tamer and a fave with her 3 yr old.
They also put in a small rice pudding cup which had a mango flavor too it and was really good and cooling. We will surely try them again.

    "Two words: Dinner. Special."

That is what my friend Sam said to me when I had one too many mediocre Indian experiences and asked my Facebook friends for their recommendation on the the best Indian food in the Bushwick / Ridgewood area. Hearing "special" and being the cheap bastard that I am, I immediately logged onto GrubHub and ordered. In short: I cannot resist a deal.

On GrubHub the dinner special is listed as the 'Daily Special Plate' – You get a full-sized app and a half-quart container of your choice entree. It comes with a medley of the classic condiments: tamarind sauce, cucumber raita, the mint+cilantro sauce that typically accompanies samosas that I am fully obsessed with and naan*, of course. It also comes with a cup of orange in color / delightful in taste rice pudding. At $13, it's absolutely a deal for the amount of food you receive. It was the value that originally caught my interest but it is the food that keeps my cheap-ass coming back.

So, onto the grub: Their veggie vindaloo is on point and coincidentally the only thing I've ever eaten as it satisfies that specific craving that creeps up on me when I'm in the mood for Indian: Something spicy, just a little bit greasy and bright in flavor. What makes it especially good besides flavor (and it is H-O-T) is the crunch the vegetables have. Leads me to assume that the vegetables are made fresh. They even put a very sparing amount of fresh ginger which make those few special bites SO FRIGGIN' YUMMY. The *naan is unremarkable but I am truthfully not a tremendously big of a fan of naan.

I haven't had a proper sampling of the menu but I wouldn't pass it up if you're looking for a delivery spot. Speaking of: Delivery is almost always quicker than the estimated time but never later.

I ordered via GrubHub and the delivery was a bit late, but the food was fantastic! I ordered samosas, naan, and chana masala, which came with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted fresh and not overcooked or bland, which is a good sign. I do wish the delivery had been a bit faster but it's still a good spot for decent Indian food.

We ordered through seamless and our food came within the estimated time.

The order was correct and still warm. They gave quite a few chutneys and sauces to accompany our order of curries, naan, rice and appetizers.

While they were all okay, nothing was fantastic. The naan had good texture though and I did appreciate they did accommodate my request for everything to be spicier.

My least favorite dish was the Chicken Tikka Masala. It didn't taste like any I've ever had and had an odd sour taste I don't associate with the dish.

The lamb vindaloo was flavorful and well seasoned though.

The family combo is a good deal for an appetizer, three curries, rice and two order of naan.

    Overall, not bad.
