  1. This location of this ramen chain is inside the Queens Crossing in Flushing. It's run by all Chinese people which makes sense because of the location. The ramen here is below average but edible. It lacks the usual flavor – the broth did not taste right. The chashu was also old and dry. I recommend that seekers of authentic ramen stay away.

  2. From the taste of it, this really isn't a ramen shop. It's more of a noodle shop. I have tried many forms of ramen and this doesn't break the threshold of becoming one but it tries really hard to.

    1) Nothing saddens me more than an overcooked egg in a "ramen" dish. And boy. was it overcooked.
    2) Soup was good, not salty but wasn't packed with flavor.
    3) Noodles were….ok.
    4) Meat was delicious!

Their portions are pretty large which his a good thing sometimes so if you're looking for some noodle soup on a cold day, this would be a nice spot to grab some food. Definitely not a ramen joint but I give props for trying.

  3. To sum it up….it tastes like $hit.  Instant ramen tastes better.  Total rip off and I'd rather go hungry.

  4. 3 stars, not too bad of a spot if it weren't for the misleading Japanese-themed ramen.
We ordered the beef ramen and the braised short rib ramen. Miso broth was subdued in butter with little umami and was heavier and saltier than I would like. The beef was nothing more than over-broiled bulgogi slices, too tough to chew. Considering the rising price of chicken reproductive sacs, they gave us each half a slice of egg . Sadly they abused the art of ramen eggs, by serving us a hard-boiled egg. WHERES MY SOFT-BOILED EGG WITH OOZING YOLKS? The ramen noodles tasted like dried spaghetti.
Highlight of the visit was the short ribs, so tenderly braised and soaked in flavor. The price is fair for about 10 bucks a pop. Gotta give this place props for being around for so long inside Queens Crossing. But there's plenty of room for improvement.

  5. im a fat of their meat! but as every other ramen place out there, you get just about 2 slices or less! the bowl in general is decent, broth is decent. but this is flushing, i wouldn't come here unless you HAD to have a bowl of ramen since there are so many other options out here.

  6. I had their Ajisen ramen bowl and it was pretty good.  Not salty, came out fast, decent amount of meat.  Only cons I can think of: the guy behind the register didn't speak English very fluently and there's limited seating since it's inside Queens Crossing.

  7. For me, this ramen shop wasn't terrible, but it wasn't particularly great either. Although this is one of the few ramen shops in flushing, I cannot help but to feel as if I chose poorly for lunch.

I came to Ajisen with a friend of mine who worked nearby. I got the spicy ramen with extra charsiu. The soup felt a bit lukewarm and could have definitely been hotter. It was also a bit lacking in toppings, I could have definitely used some bamboo shoots or something else to give it more of a bite. The minced pork topping that they did use, when eaten separately was definitely cold.

Since this place is one of the few ramen shops left in flushing, Ajisen definitely has the potential for growth. It's just not there yet.

  8. My boyfriend and I wanted to check out this place since we were around the area before checking Yelp. I was pretty surprised to see that this place received 2.5 stars overall as we were both pretty satisfied with our meal. We shared a tenderized beef ramen, as the cashier told us that it was the most popular one. The chunks of beef in the soup was amazing! Super tender and juicy and it did not lack any flavor. The soup however had a "milky" taste according to my boyfriend but we fixed that problem after "accidentally" spilling a little too much hot sauce in there. This ramen place is definitely cheaper than the other ramen places around but still a good place to eat if you're in the area. However, if I was given a choice/ have the time, I'll definitely be making the trip to another ramen shop in the city- especially since I can get my order of pork buns on the side.
