This is a small place right around the corner from where I live…when my parents are in town to visit, I usually hit this place up (or one of the many Indian choices in Curry Hill) because it's simple and dependably reliable. The sushi is average here – in my mind, it's materially worse than Umi, which is just a few blocks further away and is the same price. But the overall quality is alright. The bento box is a good dinner value, and they get the simple rolls done well. Service is impersonal, but the food is delivered quickly and your glass of water won't be left empty for long.
Having eaten here many times over the past couple of years, I'm a bit surprised that they now are serving Thai food, on a separate menu, alongside the Japanese cuisine. To me, it doesn't seem like a terribly informed business decision, but that's not for me to review here. All in all, this is a very back-to-basics place that serves typical Japanese fare without doing much to make it memorable, for better or worse.
