  1. So my review is a bit dated from the first time I ate at Amanta, but nonetheless its a review of my experience before and after, and why I don't eat there anymore.

I first ate at Amanta, which is family owned, Dominican cuisine, storefront restaurant property, which is located on Teaneck Road and Forest Ave.

The food like most places when its your Grand Opening, is on point and cooked with Love.  But over time (a year), the food started to lack in consistancy.  The maduros were either over fried or under fried, the rice hard – like it was sitting out all day, or you would get the pegao (or concón – dominican style).  Pegao is the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot (calderon).  Unlike, most hispanics, I don't like that part.

I have tried the arroz con pollo (chicken and rice), bistec (steak), sopas (soups).  It was all good until…

The person I see frequenting this place, is a bachelor or someone who needs a fast meal (food is sitting on warmers.  I don't know about you, but I like my food Hot and Fresh.
