  1. Ate here for New Years' Day breakfast. It's located in downtown West Orange. They have a small parking lot in the back or you can do metered parking. Breakfast is nothing special; we ordered french toast, egg whites, home fries, and tea. But it was a good brekkie after a night of dancing and ringing in the new year. I get a bit skeeved out when looking out less than pristine cutlery and dishes, but service was good, cheap breakfast, and they had a decent cup of tea.

  2. old school 24 hour diner with Pretty average fare, a pretty large menu, large serving sizes, clean and bright environment, their own well lit parking lot, and what I found to be good and friendly service. Gyro panini with tzaziki , fries, a pickle slice, and cold slaw had a very generous portion allottment of both gyro and fries, and the gyro was tasty  although not really special. Breakfast looks good did not try. But hey it isa diner and what else is open at 3 am around here? split pea soup was good.

  3. As a born and bred New Yorker – who just moved to Jersey a month ago, I found they're food to be pretty decent compared to other diners in NYC. I've been here twice and each time, I've gotten Camomile Tea, Scrabbled eggs with Bacon and Pancakes! I love pancakes!

Each time, the bacon has been nice and crispy (they were fresh the first time but not the second) and the pancakes were fluffy and HUGE! You won't be able to finish this unless you're an overweight trucker! (no offense).

They're decently priced but the parking lot is very small. Otherwise, it's a cool place to eat breakfast when in the area.

  4. The Americana Diner  in West Orange is definitely your classic American Diner you would think you would see in the movies. It has your all day breakfast menu, a variety sandwiches , salads, burger and entrees to choose from.

I visited on a Saturday, it was a pretty quiet and about 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. We were seated and greeted quickly. The staff was kind and gave their recommendations and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu.

When it came down to ordering they were very strict with no substitutions or rendering the meals. I had some dietary needs to attend to, and they would not change it at all. I was surprised to see a diner that wouldn't budge on that.

The food came out quickly! I had mozzarella sticks and a grilled chicken sandwich! The food was good! I would say the sandwich was quite greasy though and oily. I would say this is a great place to check out for getting a quick bite or a late night spot!
