Sooo good and so pretty. We got a cup to share because it was easier. However, if you feel like indulging and not wanting to share, I suggest getting a cone. They make it look like petals on a rose and you can pick unlimited flavors. The gelatos were extremely creamy and delicious!
Ahhhhhhhmazing gelato. I knew after reading the reviews and then seeing the crowd around the storefront that I would not leave unhappy and I was so right. I had the tiramisu and the biscotto and both were pure heaven. I so wish this place would deliver its deliciousness to Dallas. Prices are very reasonable, there are lots of places to sit and the bathroom was very clean. The staff was so friendly and everyone wanted to help you and make sure you had everything you wanted. If I lived in NYC, I would be a regular here.
Overpriced but a fun place to get dessert after dinner. They serve the gelato on cones by forming the ice cream into petals and making the cone look like a flower- cute gimmick that doesn't get old even after several visits.
The gelato is pretty good and the gelato filled macarons are a smart twist on the macaron trend.
They have lots of interesting favors but because it takes a long time to make an ice cream cone into a flower (!) waits can be long.
BEST gelato in NYC hands down, cones up!
FLAVOR: Tastes like the real thing, creamy and natural tasting, no artificial flavors like you get at other places. I had my favorites chocolate and stracciatella.
PRESENTATION: They shape your ice cream to look like a flower and place the ice cream like petals around each other – beautiful! So pretty you almost don't want to eat it. But you know you will.
Service was friendly. Can't ask for anything more! Will be having many more cones here this summer!
Pretty great gelato and sorbets! The flavors taste like real versions of the fruit or base ingredient – understandably subdued, but natural. I'm not big on sorbets because I'm more prefer rich, creamy, and unsweet things not pure sweetness. However, the mango sorbet was easily my favorite of what I sampled bursting with real mango flavor. I settled on a medium cup with three flavors. They were generous about packing it in but wasn't overfilled.
Mango Sorbet – Really fresh mango flavor, smooth consistency, not too sweet didn't seem like the added more than the natural sugar from mango.
Yogurt – Slightly tart, light, and icy like a denser frozen yogurt. Quite refreshing.
Pistachio – Nutty, savory rich and not that sweet with a little saltiness and some chunks of pistachio nutmeats. It's duller in flavor and I got kind of bored with it.
Other flavors I sampled
Chocolate – Standard, not very dark
Strawberry Sorbet – Sweet and light sorbet
Amarena Cherry – Syrupy and fruity, too sweet
Let's just get this out of the way now: I'd live on ice cream and gelato if I could. For the latter, I've had the real deal in Rome, and spent the past few years looking for something comparable in the U.S. Amorino is just such a place. They boast close to two dozen traditional to unusual flavors, they'll mix and match just about anything you want, and if you get it in a cone, they'll mold it into a fun little flower shape for you. Will you accept this rose? Why, yes, I will, Amorino.
We had a bunch of flavors, all gelato (go big or go home, si?), and not a single one disappointed. For me, the pistachio, bourbon, and blood orange (not all together, mind you) were standouts. The chocolate is also wonderfully rich, and the tiramisu was less sugary than expected, in the best possible way. I could have easily eaten twice the portions, but I behaved myself. Not for long…I'm thinking I may have to go back before I leave the city.
Bravo, Amarino, for crafting some tasty, rich, and silky gelato with mostly organic ingredients and a dialed-back approach to sweeteners. I suppose it's a good thing I don't live near you, or those double portions would probably get me into some serious trouble.
This is a gelato chain that started in Europe. It's widely popular in Italy and Portugal, with lines out the door. Believe it or not, gelato at this UWS location actually tastes exactly like the ones people crave from Europe. It's a little expensive for just ice cream, but some delights are worth the splurge.
Staff here are super friendly and happily provide any samples you may want to try. Don't be shy 🙂
I recommend these gelato flavors:
– pistachio
– sweet milk (vanilla on crack)
– speculoos
– hazelnut
– dulce de leche
For the small size, you can get up to 5ish flavors. But know that if you get more flavors, you'll have less of each flavor. Personally, I opted for just 3 flavors and was very happy still.
MUST TRY this summer!!
Good place to enjoy a creamy Gelato especially in hot summer nights! I had a rose shaped ice cream etched out in a cone with flavors like salted Caramel, Hazelnut, Choclate and Custard with berries. It tasted good! My only complaint is that we went there on a Friday night and the house was packed this I felt that the guy who handed us the ice cream was rushing out on the charm of carving a rose out of ice cream flavors and it didn't turn out to be the ones I had seen earlier in the pictures..
