  1. This place is the epitome of a solid 4. Just about any sandwich you pick up from here is going to be exactly what you're looking for–not necessarily better, but absolutely not worse. Delivery has always been fast and friendly for me and food has always arrived at it's proper temperature. I don't care much for the fries, but it's more of a preference thing. The fries here are sort of half way between a steak fry and a regular fry–too much potato for my tastes, but I imagine they're perfect for people that like them… if that makes any sense. Along with your order, they'll deliver odds and ends like toilet paper if you really need it.

  2. A great deli with very reasonable prices for the area.  We were hungry and didn't want to spend a fortune for lunch.  Yelp lead us to this small deli across the street from the Museum of Natural History.  It was such a nice day out that we decided to grab a couple sandwiches from Andy's and eat them across the street in the park.  Two sandwiches and two sodas for about $15 or so.  Can't beat that price.

  3. From a visitor's perspective, it seemed like there was a deli with Andy's namesake every few blocks in Manhattan. I don't know whether the similarities lie in business partnerships or just the moniker, but compared to other ones we saw, this Andy's Deli was a smaller, yet well-situated bodega in the Upper West Side.

We walked past the store numerous times during our stay in the UWS and I'd read (from Yelp) that there were decent sandwiches to be had here. We dropped in to grab a bite and some snacks before turning in for the night. Though the neighborhood is fairly quiet in the evenings, it was still fairly busy with customers: locals and NYPD parking enforcement.

I ordered a Turkey Club and we shopped for chips and drinks in the small space while waiting for just a few minutes. The sandwich (turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo) ended up being around $8. It was actually on the small end as far as sandwiches go, but there was enough filling and the bread was toasted, which I appreciated. Prices of the other items we bought were average.

While nothing extraordinary, Andy's Deli is a solid choice to get something to eat or replenish goods if you're hanging out around Central Park West. Take a picnic to the park or have lunch on the benches surrounding the American Museum of Natural History, which is right across the street from here. 3.5

  4. We popped in here for lunch after going to the Natural History Museum.

I ordered the salami on rye, my daughter got the tuna sandwich and my wife the roast beef.  The bread so fresh and soft and they were generous with the meat. I'm not a roast beef fan, but theirs was awesome.

The service was average. The reason for not getting 5 stars is the place is super small, so you have to maneuver around everyone and there's no seating.

    Prices were fair.

  5. This deli was pretty meh for me.  I ordered the pastrami sandwich on rye.  The pastrami was not warm, the cheese was not melted, and the bread was not toasted.  All of these things were disappointing to me.  There was also a lack of topping for the sandwich, the only things you could choose from were lettuce and tomatos.  Save your money and go somewhere else, this deli was a letdown.

  6. Small store with a deli counter, drinks and minimal snack type of groceries.

We ordered a tuna sandwich, a roast beef sandwich and a corned beef sandwich, all on rye bread.

The bread was okay but the deli mustard was really spicy and they were generous with the meat. Sandwiches are also only around $6 – 7, which is nice.

  7. I want to give this place 3.5 stars, so being the optimist I am, I rounded up to 4. I ordered from this place because I was on line to get tickets for Shakespeare in the Park, and this is one of the few places that will deliver to the line. I really appreciate that they do this because otherwise it's pretty difficult to get hot food without risking losing your spot.

    1) I've only had a breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg white, and cheese) from here once, so I can't say much about the food as a whole. I wouldn't say it's the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, but it was still pretty good and definitely hit the spot.
    2) The prices are very good, especially considering its location in the upper west side amidst all the tourist sites.
    3) It took me about 30 mins to get through over the phone because it was so busy, but my order was delivered within 10-15 mins. A lot quicker than I expected! I don't know if connecting a second phone line or having more people manning the phones would help ease up on the phone traffic, but something should be done about that.

I don't think I'll ever find myself craving an Andy's Deli sandwich, but would order from here again next time I'm getting tickets or something.

  8. I was a little surprised that the delis in New York. They don't all have a seating area and restroom for patrons. They look like what a convenient store would be on the West Coast. However this food went way beyond my expectations. The service was quick and our sandwiches arrived almost as soon as we ordered them. I ordered the egg salad with tomato, and my friend ordered a turkey sandwich. The bread was really fresh and the sandwiches were tasty. We were able to find a bench in front of Starbucks to eat. Definitely stop by this place if you're looking for a quick bite on your way for more adventures.
