  1. It's pretty good.

They carry kombrewcha, which is lovely.
I got the thai lemongrass entrée and it was delicious.
Some things can definitely be hit or miss here, like I don't recommend getting the sushi because it had very soggy rice or the whipped maple tofu dessert which was virtually tasteless.

  2. I ordered the special (a kind of lasagna) and it was tasty. The place itself (decor, etc.) is average. If you're craving something that feels healthy yet filling, this is a good match, but don't expect to be wowed.

  3. Angelica's Kitchen offers a nice variety of menu options for vegans/vegetarians.  I really enjoyed the Lime & Lemongrass Kom'brew'cha, but for $6 I expected it to be house made and not a bottled product.  The service was good, no complaints.  I ordered the Kimchee Avocado Salad.  It was fresh and healthy, but the kimchee wasn't spicy and it was more of a radish slaw.  I was anticipating spicy cabbage.  My friend got the Garbanzo Rancheros, which she said was nice.  She's a vegan, so finding places that have creative menu items for her is hard.

  4. Angelica Kitchen provided me & Bestie with a healthy, comforting Sunday night dinner.  We started with the Norimaki and Angelica Cornbread with Miso-Tahini Spread.  Both were awesome and definitely worth ordering again.  However, as much as I love both miso and tahini, I would have preferred a different spread for the cornbread.  For my entrée, I had the Wee Dragon Bowl (a half portion).  I had it come with my choice of sesame oil dressing.  It's certainly a well-balanced healthy plate, but definitely something you could whip up easily at home.  Also, it would have been nice if the Wee Dragon Bowl was actually served in a bowl…

All in all, we both enjoyed our experience at Angelica Kitchen and look forward to trying new dishes on their vast menu!

  5. Angelica Kitchen is a really cute casual quaint restaurant.  The staff is friendly and knowledgable about their menu.  I had asked a couple questions regarding the menu due to my food allergy and if they didn't know for sure they made sure to go to the kitchen and ask – which was great appreciated.  As an appetizer I had the miso soup which as delicious.  For my entree I had the dragon bowl which was phenomenal.  This restaurant use to be BYOB but is not anymore – they will charge you a cork fee.  The only negative thing I have to say is that it is extremely tight.  When a guest was leaving he knocked over our wine bottle onto my boyfriend at the time's lap – so the tables are very close together, that it is hard to get out.  But the staff was very nice and tried to clean it up as soon as possible and took off the cork fee for us.

  6. Very fresh, simple food for people who want to eat healthy while going out.  A friend and I went around 9 on a Friday and didn't need a reservation. We split the dragon bowl with black sesame dressing, and it was enough for two people if you aren't too hungry.

Also, don't get the dashi and noodles unless you really like soy sauce. The broth tastes like soy sauce and is really salty.

  7. I am so excited about Angelica Kitchen! It is so close to my yoga studio and the space is so comfortable and homey. I love that they ask you NOT to use your cell phone in the restaurant!
I brough my (non-vegan) Mom & Sister. Mom was a little bit more open to all the interesting meny options, sister needed a bit more hand-holding. She went with the Old School Marinated Tofu Sandwich and I had a special Thanksgiving-inspired dish with mashed potatoes, vegan gravy, greens and lots more – it was a filling, satisfying meal. We also were buzzing about their hot mulled cider, which was the perfect pick-me-up on such a cold November night.
I want to go back and try many more of their options, I have a feeling I will find my favorite vegan meal here one day. Thanks for the plant-based options!!

  8. Angelica Kitchen is a vegan restaurant in East Village. You can take any train toward NYU and walk to the restaurant. You'll know you're there when you see the glowing green sign and the small green bench facing the restaurant.

I came here for Sunday brunch with a friend. First, the restaurant isn't that busy. There were plenty of tables and the noise level is quite low. The tables are decently spaced out from each other. Second, the brunch menu only has two entrees ($14.50 each)- a Mexican inspired dish and a veggie platter dish. They also have buckwheat pancakes, some sides like biscuits and their normal menu is available during brunch.

Some reviews said their food is bland, and some dishes are, but they cater to those who want lower sodium options. I actually like that they have these options!

Angelica Kitchen can get pricey, and sometimes not deservedly so. The food is great and has plenty of healthy and colorful foods that will make your mouth drooooool.
