Angie’s Breakfast Spot
“i had the corned beef hash with two eggs and home fries, plus chocolate chip pancakes on the side — it was way too much food and still only ran about $7.”
“lol
Anyway my regular breakfast is two eggs over easy, french toast on regular sliced white bread and turkey bacon.”

Quick and Easy.
This restaurant is a diner-type establishment with no frills and thrills. I typically come here for breakfast on Sundays and the food is very basic (in a good way) at a very low price. For example, one can get two scrambled eggs, two sausage links, two strips of bacon, and a waffle for 6 bucks. I do not know if you can beat that deal anywhere!!! The food is not super amazing but sometimes it comes out fast without any major issues.
My only complaint is that service can be a little sluggish at times. Other than that minor issue, I love this place and probably will make this part of my Sunday routine. Perhaps, I will lay off of the waffles. 😉
I've eaten here a couple of times. I've had their breakfast and dinner and also have had their chicken soup. It's a good around the way spot and the cashiers are pretty friendly. As for their deliveries, sometimes they are way to slow, especially on weekend mornings.
The food is ok. The attitude of the woman that takes the money could be much better. I have been there 3x and she seems miserable. Don't think I will be back. The chicken soup was seasoned well with big pieces of chicke. Riven peas and chicken were ok. And breakfast was edible.
I stopped by Angies late one morning for some breakfast. I was originally at IHOP but left because it was packed with kids since school was out that day. Angies was busy but not overly crowded. I sat at the counter and enjoyed my order of eggs with cheese, grits, turkey bacon, toast and hot tea for a whopping $6. I didn't wait long for my meal at all. It looked like they also get a lot of phone orders because that phone was ringing off the hook. I felt very comfortable and homey in their little diner.
Now to the food, it was just okay. I tried my best to spruce up my grits but just couldn't get it right. LOL. Next time I will order the home fries. I saw this big carton of juice one of the servers was pouring into a small cup and asked what it was, and she said "oatmeal juice." I screwed up my face like omg and then decided to try it. LOL That "oatmeal juice" wasn't too bad. Next time I will try a full cup because it did have a little kick to it.
The staff were super friendly and this place definitely seems like a neighborhood gem where the staff knows their regulars and vice versa. I heard so many customers calling the staff by their first names which was cool. I will definitely be back for some other breakfast items and to try some more of that "oatmeal juice."
Recommendation: A great neighborhood diner – friendly staff and an excellent value.
Food: Pretty standard diner fare, I had an excellent waffle and my wife had french toast and corn beef hash. An unbeatable value for the price. Did not try the juices but they appear to be freshly squeezed.
Ambiance: A very boisterous Sunday morning with many diners greeting each other and stopping to say hello to the staff. A really great feeling emanated from all patrons and the restaurant.
Service: Very friendly, not too long of a wait even though it was pretty crowded.
It is only ok. Portions are large for the price. But the omelette was bland though. Not enough salt and pepper. Service is slow. And there's a $10 minimum for credit cards.
The food is good not the best you will ever eat but you will be satisfied. Breakfast is my go-to at Angie's. They also serve traditional Dominican breakfast (Mangu) which is good again not the best I've ever had but good. You can also get American and Dominican lunch/dinner items. The prices are very budget friendly just be sure to pay attention to what you order and add it up yourself, I've been the victim of miscalculating once or twice.
The service can improve immensely but it's kind of like an "it is what it is" situation. I always prefer to go in, order my food and wait for it there. If it's busy you will wait and possibly be asked two or three times "what you order?" but it beats calling your order in waiting about 20 minutes to pick up and getting there to find out you still have to wait because it's not completed. Or worse waiting forever for the delivery and risking the chance that it's all wrong or things are missing.
The servers there are usually juggling the in-house business, the take-out orders, the phone orders and at least two side conversations with each other in Spanish.
Every time I stay in New York, I make a conscious effort to never eat at the same places. The last time around I happened to be staying over on Chauncey St., and stumbled upon Angie's on my way to the train. Let me say the loud, divey vibe going on in here was endearing. The crowd was a mix of old regulars up on the bar stools and hungover millennials pouring out of the booths. Definitely a good brunch spot if you have a tight budget and just want to down gallons of cheap coffee after a salty, greasy breakfast.
Food is your run of the mill dinner breakfast/brunch/lunch and some Dominican food. Can be a very good combo, imo. I always felt that it hit the spot. I'm not normally picky about customer service, so I guess my only negative comment would be regarding that. The shift changes seemed to be unorganized so you could sit down ready to order, and all of the employees would be eating at the counter and talking, not paying attention to anyone walking in. Maybe we just got there at a bad time? It wasn't the end of the world, but sometimes when you're hangry, you just need some instant gratification.
Not a good place for health nuts, but cheap and greasy is just damn satisfying at the right time.
