Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza
“Good thin crust pizza and excellent wood fired chicken wings.”
“They also let you sample some of their food like small pizza slices and eggplant while you are at the bar.”
“But they are good size meatballs and if you cut them in 3rds they fit perfectly in a small roll for a meatball sandwich.”

I'd been to Anthony's in Wayne, PA but recently visited the Fair Lawn location for the first time. I enjoyed the chicken wings, served with rosemary focaccia and onions. Our group also ordered the traditional pie, eggplant pie and Paul & Young Ron pie which comes loaded with meat and super spicy peppers. Service was inconsistent and an error in the pizza sizes brought to our table wasn't corrected. I enjoyed the thin crust pies with the eggplant being my favorite.
If you read my entries you know I am perpetually behind. I came here quite awhile back. The pizza and the salad were pretty good. The service was a little uneven. If the weather is nice definitely sit outside if you can.
Service has gotten way slower, chicken sandwich was ehh. The prosciutto is rather bad as well, not worth it for a 9.33 sandwich overflowing with arugula and a bland dressing.
It took quite a while to check up (needed napkins due to the drenched sandwich) and it took a while for my credit card to come back. A bunch of waitresses/waiters were all standing in one area. It almost looked like one of them was looking at their phone of all things while the place was crowded.
And the tables in front and behind me got their food within 10-15 minutes like they usually have done before, and they ordered very similar food.
I still recommend the roast beef sandwich but if they take 30 minutes again for a sandwich in the middle of a work day, I can't exactly stop here anymore. Honestly, why?
Stick with the roast beef or mushroom pizza. I'm tempted to lower this to a 1/I would if that roast beef sandwich didn't exist.
Came here with my boyfriend for dinner. We enjoyed our salad. Our pizza was amazing! We got prosciutto and onions. We had never seen so much prosciutto on a pizza before! It was awesome! Service was friendly also! We'll be back!
Was hesitant because this is a chain. I'm so not a fan of eating at chain restaurants. But they had these meatballs served with ricotta cheese that were actually pretty great. Pizza was standard, nothing to write home about. It's worth it to come here though.I particularly am a fan of this location because they seem to have a soft spot for Dan Marino and I am a Dolphins fan 🙂
My sister ordered take out from the catering menu yesterday to serve 10. For $130 they sent enough pizza, wings, eggplant, meatballs and salad to serve a small army. Had never considered them for catering before but will definitely do so now. Awesome and delicious.
I went into this experience with little expectations since it's a chain and usually they fall short. Anthony's did not. I went on a Wednesday aka Meatballs & Martinis day no seriously that's their special. Cocktails are strong no complaints here and not bad for $6! We ordered 3 pies for the table. Meatballs & Ricotta, Paul & Young Ron and the Arugula. Excellent. Our server was great too. Definitely would come back here.
For a pizza chain restaurant Anthony's is decent! Although I prefer the location in Clifton, we had a fun time here. You can't go wrong with the traditional pie and the eggplant one is tasty too. We had one pizza with various types of meats and peppers on it, but be careful if you get a full bite of pepper because they were super spicy! Our service could have been better though, we got two small pies and one large when we asked for two large and one small. Our waiter did not correct the problem when we brought it up.
