I'm glad I visited this place, so that I could remember how awful Applebee's food is, and remind myself to never come back.
The service was fairly slow, the atmosphere was as inviting and as friendly as you could want, but the food was truly disgusting. I couldn't have been more disgusted if they had dumped a several month old frozen enchilada paired with Uncle Ben's 90-second microwaveable rice, because that's what they did. They just plated it more nicely than I would've. The only thing fresh on this plate might've been the jalapeño slices. Even the pico de gallo (which should be a fresh salsa) tasted shelf-stable for up through the apocalypse.
If you already love Applebee's, you'll love it here. If you've adjusted your body to real food as I have — a hard feat in this day and age of convenience food, then stay the heck away from here.
I met some friends here for a bite and some drinks.
I remember when this place was Bennigan's, than it was something else, now it's an Applebee's. I've been avoiding it. I don't know why. I'm not an Applebee's hater, I'm a TGI Friday's hater though. I literally live like 5 minutes away too.
So my friends were already seated and had drinks, the waitress came right over and got my drink order. We ordered food and it was out pretty quickly.
My steak was cooked very nicely and the shrimp were delicious. We had a very good time and all of us were happy.
I really dig this Applebee's! It just has a cool vibe in my opinion! The service is usually so so & the food is what you would expect from this type of establishment. It's always basically hit or miss. My boyfriend & I recently visited on a Sunday nite & we had a pretty damn good experience if I must say so! Our server (Kevin) did an exceptional job & was probably one the best waiter's we've ever had at this place! (Way to go Kevin)! 🙂
We especially enjoy going to Applebee's when we're having a craving for some appetizers. We like to build our own sampler. A few of our faves: the spinach & artichoke dip, grilled chicken wanton tacos & the brew pub pretzels & beer cheese dip. The nice thing is that there's a decent variety of appetizers to choose from so take your pick! For a main course I prefer to avoid any kind of steaks. The quality just isn't there. Safe bets: salads, burgers, pasta, chicken… I don't eat fish so can't comment on that. You get the idea…
Even if Applebee's isn't your cup of tea, this is a nice little spot to come have a drink &/or some finger foods. Maybe even some dessert… those are usually pretty damn good too!
