Uhm, idk when/why/how this went so wrong but it did.
1) The wait for lunch was super long
2) I hated the pad thai I got
So in closing, I will never be returning there.
I ordered delivery and it was faster than what I expected. We ordered the Red Curry and Basil Chicken extra spicy. The food was pretty tasty and they added extra heat like we asked. My only complaint would be that it was a bit greasy, but other than that I was happy with my choice.
Not a bad place… they are really busy with the lunch crowd and it is quite small in here.
we ordered the roadside noodle and the crispy chicken with ginger rice. Overall it was pretty tasty…although for the price, you would assume you would get a bigger portion.
I used to come here often. The last time I came here was in October after the Central Park Breast Cancer walk. FiDi is basically dead on the weekends and this place was opened. Not surprisingly, only one other customer was in the shop. I ordered pad see ew and the other person ordered curry. There is a straight view from the cash register to the kitchen. I watched the cook taste the curry with the cooking ladle, put it back into the curry and swirl the ladle around.
I was so disgusted I haven't been back and will never come back.
Much better service today, I took it to go so I will opt for this next time. I tried the lunch special Pad Se Ew with Chicken..$8 and comes with soup. This dish was much better than the drunken noodles. I asked for it spicy and it had some pepper flakes on top when I opened my container, but it at least added some spices to it. next time I will try some curry dish, but I will always do to go here
Meh..your average Thai takeout place. We had a quick dinner here: drunken noodles and tom yum soup. The squid in the tom yum was tough and the shrimp wasn't great either. I wasn't full after the meal because the noodles weren't enough. The drunken noodles were better with flavoring but really shouldn't necessitate personal touch. Given the price point, nothing really stands out about this place as a differentiator.
I only care about the chicken Pad Thai and the pad see ew. That's what I always order. The delivery is fast in the area, and the food is tasty. The cashiers are always friendly and have a good vibe.
I ordered delivery through Eat 24; pad thai, water and jasmine rice just to make the delivery minimum. The food came in about 20-25 minutes but my order was wrong. I called the restaurant directly to have what I ordered sent and had to repeat myself a few times to two different people about what I ordered and what I got. Finally got my order 20 minutes later when my lunch break was already over.
The pad thai was okay, definitely not bad. But not impressive and I wouldn't be compelled to go back here. I'd say try it out if you're craving thai really bad and you're in the area, but if you have the option to try a different place or a place that you know is great, go there.
