  1. Artichoke Basille's wasn't initially on my list of places to eat while visiting NYC, but I was passing by and decided to stop for a slice. I am so glad I did!

The artichoke pizza is unlike any slice of pizza you'll have anywhere else. I'll admit that I was kind of skeptical because a thick and creamy artichoke topping is not what comes to my mind when I think of pizza, but my doubts were quickly silenced after my first bite. It is so creamy and delicious! I also greatly enjoyed the crunch in the crust. It is a solid pizza in all departments.

One slice is $5, but the slices are massive and incredibly thick. They really pack the toppings onto the pizza so you can get pretty full off of one slice. The cashier was nice and cut it in half for me because I was sharing it with a friend.

Definitely stop by for a slice of pizza from here! I don't know how this place doesn't have a higher rating; it is definitely better and more unique than Joe's Pizza down the street. Artichoke Basille's is top notch!

  2. For me it wasn't the best I've had, pepperoni was lacking compared to other pizza I've had. It was a little thicker than a thin crust and lacked that overall great bite.

The artichoke slice is perhaps the way to go if you want a taste changer, tried it once and that was enough for me. I'd check elsewhere for NYC pizza.

  3. From a Californian point of view.

Easily the best pizza I have ever eaten in my entire existence of life. I got lucky with my brother as we came on a Sunday late morning with no line at all. One slice was all I needed. Each bite wet my mouth so much. The ooey gooey cheese with the perfect texture of the crust. Having a slice served with two plates somehow seems more satifying. It's a shame there's nothing like this on the west coast.

  4. I was first introduced to this big ASS slice of pizza when my friend told me about it and I first visited it on 14th street. Five dollars seem a lot for a slice but when you see how big it is you know it will be worth it. I have tried every slice there and my favorite is the margarita slice with an occasional artichoke or crab slice when I'm feeling cheesy. But overall an amazing slice of pizza

  5. I think the star here was the crab pizza. People waiting in long lines and getting it by the pieload. We were amazed at the size of the pizza, it was enough for the both of us, We went on our own pizza tour and this one toook us to full too fast! I still prefer traditional NY/NJ pies, though.

  6. HUGE pizza and not bad price – $5 for the artichoke pizza. It was too salty for me liking and just oozed sauce. Also didn't have that much artichokes on my slice which was a bummer 🙁

    Not bad, not great.

  7. Dude. It took like 40 minutes in line to get pizza here. I mean on a nice summery night I'm not really complaining, but damn. That was just the line for slices. Overall though I can't say there is a better pizza out there to sop up all the alcohol ingested throughout an evening of bar hopping. I hear people saying that they cut their slices into thirds, that is just nuts. I can tear up at least an entire slice and 2 or three bites of the next one before I become stuffed and succumb to artichoke poisoning.

  8. 3.5 stars

Like everything else in NYC this place is TINY.  Definitely takeout.  They have like 3 chairs so don't think you can dine in.

I tried their artichoke cream pizza.  It sounds weird and perhaps a bit unappetizing but it was so good!  Their was a lovely creaminess and depth of artichoke flavour that comes out with this pizza.  I was pleased surprised to say the least.

I would have rated it a bit higher but it's not the cleanest place inside and if u do dine in cuz you are that hungry, it's a sweat bucket unfortunately.
