  1. Local Chelsea cafe shop for great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. It's a narrow shop but the quality coming out of that small kitchen is pretty good. Come here for the great breakfast sandwiches. They make a great bacon and egg sandwich on a toasted bagel. The bacon is one of the best crispy bacon i've had on a breakfast sandwich. Wonderfully made eggs with them being fluffy tasty and seasoned well. Yes it's eggs but you'll be surprised how many places in this city get eggs wrong. Here they don't. Great price point and strong well made coffee. The soups here for lunch look good as well. Good fast counter service so I'll be a regular here for breakfast for sure.

  2. Eggs, turkey, avocado on a whole wheat wrap…. Holy moly!!! I was on the run and it was the perfect fix to starvation before a 13-hour long day of work… It was so delicious :))

  3. This place pisses me off BIG TIME.

There's constantly 10+ people that work there standing around not helping anyone. Patrons don't know how to wait in line (and often don't).  As a bonus after this place irritates the bejesus out of you, your iced coffee will taste funny.  FAIL.

  4. Breakfast at Ashby's was economical and quick with one bagel at $1.35 and one small hot Green Tea at $1.10.  Unfortunately there is no seating as it is merely a takeout cafe to fit the hustle and bustle on-the-go New York scene.  Service is efficient and abrasive in rudeness attitude.  Albeit my bagel was swimming in a big tub of cream cheese it was decent to devour and to sustain substance getting through five hours of the work day.  Space is microscopic small and the queue to order is chaos.

A sales receipt is dispensed without question.  Ashby's have a loyalty rewards card where the eleventh coffee purchase is free after attaining ten coffees.

  5. BREAKFAST:

Amazing breakfast sandwiches? Check. Bagels with great spreads? Check. Creative smoothie combos? Check.

    LUNCH:

Delicious sandwiches? Another check. Tasty soups? You guessed it, check. All in all, this place meets all the requirements for a quick breakfast or lunch spot. Check plus.

N.B. The only thing I'd stay away from the cream based soups, unless you're looking for something crazy heavy.

  6. Found a new breakfast place close to my client. This place is really good. I usually order eggs, bacon and cheese on a roll. I will keep on coming back for sure. The only thing I don't like is how packed the place can get. It's not very big there at all.

  7. Excellent soups. Salads are made to order, but I can't seem to hit my salad sweet spot here. The desserts (cookies, brownies) are pretty solid. Haven't tried the sandwiches, but I'm told that they are excellent.

I once stood in line here with Maggie Gyllenhaal. If it's good enough for here, it should be good enough for you.

  8. For months and months and months, this location was just quiet.  Nothing in sight.  In fact I thought it was just part of the Army recruitment center next door.

Then one day, shazzam! Barely any signs of renovations or preparation but behold! A shiny Ashby's appears.  Slick clean counter tops and floors.

It's as if by magic a convenient place to stop for a cookie, sandwich, coffee or tea just appeared out of nowhere.  So close to work too! It's great.

They're fast, efficient, and very nice and friendly.  Oh Ashby, where did you come from?
