  1. No,
    Just…no.

First of all, I guess I made the mistake of going on Valentine's night, when it was uber-crowded. Crowded to the point where tables were placed RIGHT next to each other…to sit against the wall, one had to pull out the table and walk around it.

What kind of sick and twisted fire code violation is that?

The food was okay…the shrimp still had the heads attached, which made me potentially have a heart attack. I cannot eat something with eyeballs. But the Cornish hen and collard greens were okay.

The band was good too…but I was literally sitting on the stage.

    Priceless…

  2. I know someone who bartends during the week here. So I have to say the service was great! They have a few vegan options with modification. I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich without the pesto to make it vegan. The sandwich came with fries; both were great. They have a decent happy hour as well. I came on a night there wasn't music, so I have to come back.

  3. It's ok….not great!

  4. This restaurant provided a fantastic meal! I had the seafood stew and mac and cheese and left overly satisfied and stuffed (perhaps due to the hot corn bread served beforehand). The lighting is low and serene, but the music speaks to those that enjoy a nice 80's flashback. At 8 P.M. they put on a show, which I did not stay for unfortunately. I went on a Saturday at 5:30 and it was pretty empty. Highly recommended! Tip added automatically.

  5. The food was good but the service was very slow. Dinner for three was $100 including tip. Dinner at the restaurants in Harlem was much better. It was open mic night so there was a $10 cover charge which you get back if you leave before the music starts. I had the tilapia with shrimp garlic sauce, mashed potatoes and collard greens. I had water. My daughter had a sprite ($4) and my husband had a non alcoholic fruit punch ($6)

  6. Live music, nice food, and fun decor and love the location. The first time I was there several years ago, it was for a Maya Angelou event. I was excited to meet her. Some unique items – scallion cheddar mashed potato, garlic soup, goat stew.

  7. What a wonderful venue for the blues, soul sounds and delicious food!  From the second you walk in you are swept into the ambiance that warm and friendly.  If you are lucky Valerie Simpson, the owner or some other musical icon will be in the house.
The food grabs you from the start with hit fluffy corn bread with fruit infused butter and a wide range of southern, Cajun and American cuisine.  The deserts are yummy and all the cocktails are potent and flavorful.  I will go time and time again, especially when AZIZA MILLER is in the house !
