Astoria Brewhouse

“This resturant attracts good vibes, and a funky feng shui, with a sweet bar and flat screen televisions galore.”

“It's a really laid back place- the staff is always super nice, the beer selection is great, and the bar food is pretty good.”

“Indigo is one of those lovely upscale bars covered in plasma tvs, people drinking at 11am, and a restaurant area that's suppose to just push booze.”

  1. Can't say I've been here on Friday or weekend night, but followed some friends into this place for an early weekday happy hour.

Sign outside said weekday HH 11am-7pm. Wow talk about all day specials. First impression from the outside was your typical sports bar. Inside was cozy, weird to say that about a bar, but maybe only because it was a rainy day and we were the only ones there so it wasn't hectic. Dark lighting, modern comfortable seats, tons of TV's to watch games on.

Straight to the point: Cheap HH specials $4 domestics/ $5 imports/ $7 mixed drinks, lots of TV's behind the bar. Didn't eat anything there, but they have $8 lunches also.

Service was attentive, but my group of 8 were pretty much the only ones there, so it makes sense.

  2. ++
    – Signature salad is great and pretty sizeable
    – Good beer selection
    – Wings were cooked very well

    +
    – Calamari was good too
    – Appetizers come in big portions
    – Good place to have a party, it was pretty empty on a Saturday night around 9and our unannounced party was able to be seated immediately. We took up half the place
    – The fries seemed to get good reviews from all members of party
    – Karaoke was going on at the time, seemed like a good time

    – A person in our party was not a fan of the burger

  3. Went here for paint nite so I can't comment about the whole place in general. I did eat the mozzarella sticks and garlic parm fries that were yumymy! They also have a great draft selection and our waiter was really attentive and nice!

  4. Astoria Brewhouse is never my go to bar, it's just convenient, and they have bleu cheese fries that cause me to salivate when I'm not having them.

They're a bit pricey? Only late night special is piss beer, but the shot of Jack is awesome. $7 for the pair.

The servers are always horrible- dull, dry, boring- but last night, they had who I believe was a new server? Her name was Shannon. She was adorable, quirky upbeat, and held a conversation. That's a true server. Get more Shannon's and I'll be around more often.

  5. Draft beer selection is decent. Food is horrible each and every time I've ordered…from their mini tacos, cheese burger to their spring vegetable rolls. ..stay away!  Service is okay at best…at the bar as well as at tables.

  6. How can you call yourself a brewhouse with such a limited selection of beer? There are much better places to eat and drink in Astoria within a block radius. My friend went to the restroom at some point, and some drunk guy sitting a few seats away stole his full pint glass. The bartender did not believe him when he came back, rudely said something along the lines of "I'm sure it just disappeared into your stomach" before reluctantly pouring him another. Don't bother with this place, everything about it is sloppy.

  7. Wedged between two pubs without food, you'd figure they might garner a bit more runoff as a food option. Unfortunately there's not a lot of reasons to come here beyond having an average burger. A few times I've been here the Guinness has tasted off, which is really disappointing. Clean lines are a sign of a place that cares about their beer.

I'll continue to give these guys a shot, but it's not the first option if I'm nearby and want a quick bite to eat.

  8. Came here once 3-4 years ago for my cousin's birthday and came here again with a friend since I work in the neighborhood. We grabbed the appetizer sampler(calamari, potato skins, and chicken fingers) which was pleasant for the cost and a couple of drinks that were $6 bucks and normally $10 when its not happy hour. I noticed the bar did become lower scale when looking back from a few years back as they used to offer more variety on tap and higher end IPAs.

Still the service was pretty friendly so I gotta give them that.
