  1. Atmi's greatest draw is its hours. It's open late for last minute booze runs, which is pretty sweet. The prices aren't great but they aren't bad, just average to maybe a smidge overpriced. I wouldn't call it a place to get a good deal though. The staff are very friendly though and they'll chat if you start a conversation. One of my greatest finds here was a giant ass handle of Kirkland rum. Or maybe it was whiskey. Either way – COSTCO BRAND, COSTCO SIZED LIQUOR BOTTLE. Truly a gem.

  2. I wouldn't go here unless you absolutely have to. It is overpriced and the staff is not that kind. I go because it is so local, but wish there was a better liquor store closer.

  3. I must be feeling old, because I've already started taking offense when I don't get carded.  For gosh sake, I'm 23 and Asian.  I could be 16 for all you know, ask for ID!  I've been here a few times and haven't been carded once.  NYU kids, take note.  (Or don't.  Go study.)

That said, the selection is decent if not bargain-priced, and the location is convenient enough that if you live in the Village and are bad at planning, you'll probably end up stopping by.  I wasn't too impressed when I asked the guy working there if they carried Gewurztraminer and he stared at me like I was speaking in tongues, but service is at least friendly.

Also, am I wrong, or is this place called Atmi, not Miat?  Or is this "mistake" a cover so that Atmi doesn't have to drink hemlock for corrupting the youth?
