Yummy, warm,  ham & cheese croissant, assorted pastries, muffins, ready-made salads, soups, beverages.

Enter West 41 Street bldg of Port Authority, NOT West 42nd Street bldg.  You will see Hudson News when you enter, stay on the left side of Hudson News. Au Bon Pain is near the escalators, across from Starbucks.

I was hungry & the warm, freshly made & just wrapped, ham & cheese croissant was delicious. I also bought a carrot muffin which was very good. I like my carrot muffins with raisins and walnuts, & that's what was in this carrot muffin. Happiness.

On line to pay, the man ahead of me had a cheese stick that looked good, so I went back & got one. It was not as tasty as it looked.

The staff: 5 stars, including the male manager who was leaving & finished for the day, & was nice enough to walk over to the pastries w/me and tell me which was the carrot muffin. He apologized for not having signage, & said, they were in the process of creating new signs, since some selections have changed. OK.

Thank you to the multiple staff members in the back where items are baked–customers can see this area. I asked if there were any ham & cheese croissants, & you had just baked some. You wrapped one for me. You were all so nice & helpful–thank you!

LACKING  Helpful Signage. This would help people find items more quickly. Informative signs showing the name of each item would help a lot.
Ingredient listing would be smart & helpful. Pret a Manger (food shop) does it.

I need a sign for each & every pastry & food item, as I've seen at other Au Bon Pain stores. Don't make the customer have to do the work that Au Bon Pain should ALWAYS do.  You have people who are concerned about allergic reactions to foods & as you certainly should be aware–an allergic reaction can cause death.  Take your signage seriously.

To Au Bon Pain–You have a Starbucks across the way, don't you realize that without signs showing what the food item is, folks can simply walk across the way & know what they're buying at Starbucks?  You may be losing business.

Overall: very nice staff. Many of the baked goods are very good. I have not tried any other items.

I will certainly buy another ham & cheese croissant & carrot muffin here.

See my photos of pastries I bought.
