A friend and I were staying in the area and decided to check this place out because Google recommended it. It did not disappoint!
The ambiance is trendy yet casual. They have a lovely looking patio that seems like an oasis in the chaos of the city. The fixtures and wall hangings give you a lot to look at.
The food was fantastic! I tried the BLT. Pork belly AND bacon!?! How can you say no to that!? My friend tried the chicken sandwich. She was also pleased! The side of potatoes were like these seasoned sticks of goodness. So much flavor. With a side of mayo…do it!
Our server, Sofia, was fantastic. He was attentive without being pushy.
This place is the best!
The entire restaurant has a great vibe making the space welcoming and cozy. The outdoor area is my favorite patio to brunch upon.
The veggie quiche is my favorite breakfast and a go to weekend indulgence. It pairs perfectly with the Rosè (which as you can tell by the theme of this post) is also my favorite.
Stop in for a late brunch/early lunch or when ever. Definitely try it out this summer.
Bacchus is a really charming spot to grab brunch. It has enough indoor and outdoor space for a group and but still has an intimate feel for any one on one occasion. I went with a group for brunch and opted for the unlimited mimosa brunch special which included any item on the menu for $30. Split between the steak & eggs and crab cake benedict, I decided on the latter and was not disappointed. While the English muffin does dwarf the size of the crab cakes, flavors were spot on and I was big fan of the hollandaise and side of potatoes. Worth the trek from Manhattan, this place is sure to impress any date or friends who do not venture to the area often.
Talk about a wine list – there was a Chateaux Margaux that lists for US$3,000. Maybe if I win the Powerball. I pretended it was the $9 Pino Noir that I was drinking.
Very pretty little bistro a few blocks away from the Barclays where we were invited by dear friends to see The 1975. We had the escargot, pan fried foie gras and goat cheese, all were perfect. The butter on the snails were esp good. I would've eaten a whole baguette with that.
Main course was the Braised Lamb Shank for the girls and Mahi-Mahi for the Dads. The lamb was perfection in a red wine mushroom truffle potato sauce. Mahi-Mahi was good, not great, but presentation was so beautiful I forgot to consume the edible flower.
Service was attentive, prices are reasonable and the espresso was strong. Will definitely be back when in the area.
Spot on.
I came to Bacchus for a private event this morning for brunch. This was an engagement party and a section of the restaurant (including the outside patio) was exclusive to the event.
All the guests, including myself, were treated so nicely from the moment we arrived. The staff was phenomenal: they were super friendly and anything that was needed was taken care of right away.
The food was outstanding. From simple salads to egg and cheese quiches, everything was delicious. On another note, I really don't like mushrooms at all but they served a mushroom filled ravioli in a cream sauce that I could not have enough of.
I only hope that the quality of service for a private event carries over to regular dining (which I don't doubt). This is a great restaurant for a date and I wouldn't hesitate coming back with my wife to try their dinner menu.
lovely little romantic spot. really enjoyed the ambiance and nice wine list. was a perfect fit, not too fussy for my beau and I to enjoy some french food for valentine's day. we would def go back for another occasion or for their brunch. I had the hanger steak- beautifully cooked; he had the seafood pasta and was incredibly happy with it. desserts were so decadent and lovely. I had the creme brulee which came with a gorgeous sugar sculpture on top. very attentive and kind waitstaff too.
came here for my friend's baby shower event. this place was quite lovely. She booked for an outdoor event but it turned out to be cold and rainy that day. Luckily, when we entered the restaurant they were prepared for the bad weather. They had a tent with portable heat stands and hanging heaters set up for the guests. the service was a bit slow. some of us didn't even get a drink and or water refilled. We didn't mind it that much since we were all preoccupied with the event. One good thing was that there was a never ending supply of bread (thank you to the mom to be who loves bread!). For the app, we all had some sort of duck pate on top of bread. I ordered what looked like an open face ham sandwich w an perfectly cooked egg on top (it came with steak fries). the main course portions were huge! I had the tiramisu for dessert. My friend had the apple tart which wasn't as tasty as the tiramisu.
Overall, this place was adorable and served good food. I'd probably want to come back here for brunch and even dinner.
Gorgeous place! I absolutely love it here. When we first walked in my friend said she felt like we were walking into a different country. It was around 7pm and we had dinner in the back patio. The beautiful bistro string lights created an amazing atmosphere and vibe.
The food was authentic and flavorful. I tried "Beef Cheeks" for the first time and was impressed. My friend had the"Hanger Steak" and enjoyed it. The menu is in French but translated into English as well, so no worries. The waiters all spoke French which added to the authenticity. Prices for entrees were reasonable. Our bottle of wine was $35. Not bad.
I was looking for venues with an outdoor section to host an engagement dinner celebration soon. I found this place online and needed to try the food before booking anything. It was instantly a winner. I've been working with Meryl to put together my event and she's been very helpful and put me at ease. Alvaro assisted me during contract signing and was informative and professional as well. The white decorative drapes are included for the event which I love and goes with the whole style! I can't wait for my event in the gorgeous garden. So happy to have found this place!
